A couple of weeks ago the wife received an email that our air fryer was being recalled. we had gotten it from Best Buy a year or so before. Best Buy is offering us a gift card instead of a replacement as the brand isn’t making a replacement yet. I’m not worried about purchasing another one from Best Buy, but I am looking for a good brand. If anyone has any suggestions on a good air fryer please let me know. So far I am looking at a ninja foodie. Please let me know what you guys recommend. Mainly around an 6-8qt size. Thanks

I got one last year and it's awesome. I can put a 15# turkey in there and it's my new favorite way to roast a chicken. Splash the bird with some oil, throw your favorite rub on there and about 90 minutes later you have a perfectly roasted chicken with nice crispy skin. Inside stays nice and juicy. A turkey takes longer but the result is the same.

We had the ninja air fryer and used it a bit. But picked up the pampered chef air fryer. Man that thing is cool. I use it all the time now reheating things. It has a rotisserie feature but I haven’t used it yet.

It’s pricey but my wife did a party thing and got a good discount on it.

I have the Ninja Foodie 6.5 quart. It works great. It does a lot of different things. I cooked a roast in it last week. I seared the meat on each side and then added the veggies and pressure cooked for 30 minutes. It worked fine. There is lady with a youtube channel called the salted pepper. I watch her to get some ideas with the foodie.

We've had two Instant Pot air fryers, first was awesome and worked great, had trays, rotisserie and a drum. We wore it out after a few years, bought a newer model and it was awful.

Found a SurLaTable one at Costco that is similar to the old better Instant Pot version. Like it enough that we bought a spare and tucked it away for when this one dies.

Hardly use the actual oven much anymore

IMO there are now 2 designs of air fryers... The "pot" style and the "toaster oven" style. The "pot" style was the first design of the air fryers but they have since changed. We owned a Phillips "pot" style originally that worked well but it was small in length and width, which limited the cooked foods and mostly burned the edges. We found a Best Buy sale maybe a year or so ago on a Ninja SP101 (no not a Ruger) and it has really impressed me. I use it for fries, shakenbake chops, prefrozen air fryer chicken strips, premade toquitos etc as an air frier but it still works as an oven and toaster like a normal toaster oven. Its also great reheating take home food etc given the large pan. Its a bit slower than a microwave but it reheats the food better. We get it warm in the microwave for 30-120 sec then put it in the Ninja and it crisps it up. Small frozen pizzas and pizza breads are great... 60-120 seconds in the microwave then into the Ninja for 2-3 minutes and its great for what it is. It comes with a wire mesh rack or a pan depending on your item of choice. The only downside is that it is a bit big (in terms of taking up counter space) and I did gripe at first but shut up pretty quickly after a few uses.

For pressure cooker items we have a sperate ninja pressure cooker. IMO I'm not sure how these two can be combined into one "foodie" to work the best.

As far as the Ninja brand we've owned a few items and a friend has owned other items and they seem to be good stuff. YMMV

I have this from Walmart and it is absolutely awesome. I no longer use my oven at all and my toaster oven is just for toast now. Best combo appliance I ever had.

Our double ovens shit the bed when Covid bit. We bought Fridgedaire double ovens. They also make a single oven. That are air fryers. Not a cheap way to go, but you can air fry a large QTY of food. It’s great for fish. I’ve also smoked 5 lbs of wings and finished in the air fryer oven. I’m pretty much a grill/smoker guy, but having the space to air fry a good amount of food has come in handy.
