Cherry Point Airshow May 11-12

Anyone planning to make it out to the Cherry Point Airshow this weekend? Wife and I will be driving out there Saturday. I really wanted to go to the Seymour Johnson Airshow last year to see the blue angels but we ended up not going. Really excited to go to the Cherry Point show. Looks like they will have a final performance of the harrier each day. That will be exciting!

The wife and I are planning on going. We went to Seymour Johnson last year. This will be the first time I’ve been in Cherry Point in probably 10 years.

I tried to go to seymour johnson last year but it was a traffic nightmare and we gave up.

I'm very curious what the show at Cherry Point is like. Might have to put that on the family calendar next year.

What's the scoop on the best way in? Any tips for first timers?

I don't want to be a part of the traffic like SJ had last year.

The traffic is part of what kept us from going last year to Seymour. Gonna stick it out this time no matter how bad it is. Haha.

I am looking forward to that. Didn’t realize till recently that it was on the schedule!

Apparently the last ones. Other stuff looks good too. But we were in Morehead two weeks ago and work has been nuts.

Makes sense since you were just out that way. Feel like I have been all over the state this last month. Wilmington twice in the last few weeks plus a trip out to Asheville. Might as well throw this into the mix.

Don't forget to get your free parking passes. There's no entry with out them. Paid seating is $60-120 per if you're into that. The ingress always sucks so get there early as I'm sure the line will be there already. Come down 70 and turn left at 101 and make the 2nd entrance.

Got the parking pass already. Taking our own chairs. Getting the cheaper bleacher seats was not a bad option to not carry chairs, but would like to have the back support when sitting. Plus they ok wagons. I have one of those collapsible ones. Will use that to lug the chairs around.

Thanks for the tip on entry. For general parking, it did say the gate off 101. Figured at that point there will be signage.

The wife has never seen the Blue Angels or a Jet truck.
Gate open at 9:00
Planning on leaving Wilmington ~6:00
I'd much rather waste time in the parking lot than in line to get into the parking lot.
