Just purchased my first pistol . First time at the range we put through 176 rounds. Gun worked flawlessly. While cleaning the gun I noticed the pin on the trigger shimmied out. Has anyone had this issue on a smth and wesson? S&M customer said this is a normal thing because of weather(hot, cold). I call bullshit! Please let me know how I should approach this. I do not feel comfortable with this gun even if they replace the pin. I would like the whole trigger mech changed. Has anyone delt with this or know someone at S&W

Screw that, call them back, tell them your trigger pin is falling out of the gun, request an RMA#/shipping label.

No, stopping to tell the bad guy "hold on, I need to get out my punch set to knock the trigger dingus back into place because it's a real scorcher today" is not normal.

I just got a Shield +. Havent shot it enuff to know but the way the weather has been all July, I think the gun would melt first. Sorry you are having problems. I've got 2 more Shields, one original and one 2.0 with no problems ever. They are all WAY more accurate than the full size M&P I had.

They Just sent me a fedex express shipping label. We will see if they replace the trigger and not just the pin!

This will be my third trigger with same issue. At this point I can not carry this pistol anymore, even if they put on another trigger. I’m just going to send it back over and over and make S & W eat the shipping cost. Any suggestions on another edc?

For EDC, a P365 of your flavor. I have been carrying a P365XL for years, and have had exactly one ammo-related malfunction in the 2000 or so rounds I've put through it.

I can see why one would want a Sig if you're having to change guns because of QC issues /s

Do you just hate this dude or what?

I have sent the pistol back to S & W this is the response. Gunsmith said its not fixable (but its only the trigger!!!!!). They want scrap the gun and send me a new one. What do you think? The pistol is broken in and everything runs smooth. I would hate to break another one in. I am waiting to see if they will pay for the ffl>

My shield has been a reliable and dependable pistol, but every manufacturer makes a lemon. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another one.

Mine did the same thing I put a dab of picture on it and slid it back on. Rand 1000 plus rounds through it after that with no issue. But if they want to send you a new pistol I’d take it and not look back.

The gun was reliable. Just that they install three lemon triggers in a row. Which tells me the design/quality sucks. I guess i will start with a new pistol.

Loctite… damn autocorrect

I would reply to their email with something along the lines, doesn’t that pin hold in the lever in the trigger and isn’t that lever in the trigger some type of safety device? Since you are saying it’s just the trigger, does S&W want me to carry a gun with a broken safety mechanism that y’all cannot fix? That should get someone in the CS department to go hmmmm. Maybe we need to send him another gun and take that one back.
