The Dixie Gun & Knife Show is in Charlotte this weekend at the Park Conference Center off Independence Blvd. This is one of the largest shows in the state and has a good variety of new, used, and collectible guns, ammo, gear, and all the flea market crap we love to see at gun shows.

We will be there. Who else is going?

We'll be there around 10 Sat morning.

Was planning on being there Sunday but looks like I’ll be there tomorrow.

haven’t been in a while, how have the shows been lately? Full of over priced EBRs and plastic pistols or good deals on older used 22’s and shotguns and such?

I'll prolly be changing oil and scooping corn Saturday.

Might possibly be heading SE on Sunday.

So, no. :(

It just all depends on who shows up. I can tell you that the best deals are gone Saturday morning.

Seemed to be a lot of people or to me it was as I can't seem to walk in crowds any more (damn this getting old crap).
Picked up 8 mil tent pegs, 5 P51 can openers and 2 detachable carry handles.

Moved to Charlotte about a year ago and have gone to every gun show that pops up. This one was, in my opinion, pretty lame. I would estimate there was more parts bins/ knives/ embroidery booths/taser sites, then actual firearm vendors. Was looking for a new P229 (found a scorpion version - price was too high) and some non-AR mags, but the regular gun shops weren't there. Not a waste of $7, but I'll need to lower my expectations in the future. People watching was almost as good as Walmart.

Gun Shows are going the way Ham Fest have for us amateur radio ops. The days of finding many great deals at these shows are pretty much behind us. Yeah, there is always that exception though. But not like in years past.

The Chantilly, VA and the SCACA Greenville, SC show both took dealers from Charlotte this weekend - probably to the tune of 100-150 tables. Most of those it pulled away are gun or ammo dealers. Happens once or twice a year when one of those shows is on top of the Charlotte date. Doesn't happen as often that both of those shows are on the same weekend as Charlotte.

I work with the stepnephew-in-law of a fairly well known NC gun&pawn personality.

He told me today that the lack of competition was good for him, claiming to have sold almost 250 firearms over the weekend.
