Your latest alcohol purchase

Wanted to see if the prices of these have gone up. Same as a week ago so they came home with me. The rum was on sale to boot. I am not going down a rabbit hole but a damn sink hole.20200204_193837.jpg

Check to see if your county ABC store has a facebook page. Ours does and posts where and when and what they will be releasing each week of the most requested topshelf stuff.

I have accumulated an assortment of rums.

I am baby sitting down in New Orleans for my daughter. The wedding party is staying at the Waldorf in the French Quarter (well 2 blocks away) and noticed that the had a small bottle of Sazerac Rye for $42. That is nuts. Took a walk 1/2 block from the motel a bought the same size bottle for $13.99. And no I am not paying for the room.

some weeks require a large quantity of painkillers........Cheers!

Well recently I've tried Bib and Tucker, Elijah Craig, Bullet 10 year, Old Forester bonded 100 proof and retried Knob Creek. I was not a fan of Bib and Tucker (disappointed) and Knob creek at all for the price. Bullet 10 year was a bit better and I'm pretty impressed with Old Forester 100 proof (vs standard 86) and my current go to on ice.

I got lucky and picked up a bottle of Henry McKenna Bottled in Bond but have not cracked the seal.

Almost forgot we cracked open this little gem

Delicious

We did a blind flight with Blantons, Elmer T Lee, and the Rock Hill. It was nearly impossible to tell them apart, but we both chose the RH as first. My guess is we both liked the extra proof, but it was seriously so close it was splitting hairs.

Not a bad week. Been looking for the Rebel Yell 10 for awhile. Cheers!

Been doing a little hunting around Charleston SC.

Haven't really found any unicorns yet.

I did find a 1L Buffalo Trace and that was the last size I needed to have all 4 size bottles.

The Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond is only available in 8 states and SC is one of them.

I did find a Weller 12 but he wanted $500 for it. I want one (or two or three) but not that bad.

The Noah's Mill was the cheapest I have ever got it at $47.79.

I'll keep grinding it out I reckon.

The Woodford Reserve Wheat was a good drinker and at $29.95 I figured that another bottle should go back to Savannah. While at the package shop I got talked into trying a bottle of Noble Oaks. It is owned by the same company that owns McCallum scotch and the claim it is processed in American Oak and Sherry cast barrels.

Definitely not worth a picture: a little 4-bottle pack of honeysuckle wine of some sort, and 2 paper cartons of cabernet of some other sort, about the size of a beer can. (I guess these cartons are the 2020 version of wine in a box from the old days.) I hope they don't taste awful.

As you can probably tell, I have a lot of class, so I got these for ease of use at a party, so as not to need a glass!

Went to the package shop today and ended up getting these. Thank G-D there was a Red & White and Walgreen's next door. Was offered a bottle of Pappy for the whole bunch.

Lots of multi-purpose EverClear....and some one-purpose Bailey's...

Been buying $25 Rye's. Wild Turkey and Old Forester are the best of the bunch in my opinion. May buy a Whistle Pig if I get that $1000 check. Mark my words, the ABC's stores will be closed before all this corona crap is over. Either by Governor direct order or by shelter in place order with ABC's stores being deemed non essential. The Gubenor and his ilk arent concerned with the availability of booze or food. They will just send out the HP or SS to requisition their supplies.
