Are you wanting to get it lower and out because of wearing some kit or something? I’ve tried them before and the only time I personally see their place is if you’re fully kitted out and can’t get a good draw stroke. I do like the drop offset hangers that have a crotch strap. They get the gun in a more comfortable place for my draw but not so low that it takes forever to draw like the thigh holsters.

Yeah I'd like to get it off my belt when wearing the rest of my gear. Between the vest and the rest of my gear on my belt, it would be nice to have some room on the side and the weight off my hip. I had one issued when I was on and it was great, but for the life of me I can't remember who made it or what it was. I didn't really pay much attention to it though, I just strapped it on and went to work.
I'm in the process of building up my set up, so for the moment I just have a cheapo crappy OWB holster. So as far as that part is concerned I'm pretty much starting with a blank slate.
CZ P-07 with Suppressor height sights and threaded barrel. What gun will you be using?

In my experience, get one with a hard platform.
The ones that are simply a few pieces of nylon and MOLLE flop around too much.
Safariland makes a few decent ones.
try to get one that has the same retention system as the holster on your belt, so you don’t have to retrain.
be extra careful when walking/working around cars and nice cabinets- I would forget I had it on and SMACK- bash it against the side of something
I would go with the g code or safariland and I would get it in the optimal drop. These make it low enough to clear gear but not so low it messes up the draw stroke. Here’s the gcode https://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/gca200-rti-optimal-drop-pistol-platform/
Safariland makes one too. You can move the holster from the platform to the belt saving $ because it’s only one holster to buy.

If you worried about jackets, vests, pouches or W/TF getting in way, don’t disregard the extended drop down and spacer attachments for more common holsters.
my Blackhawk set up on range belt...keeps very comfortable distance in both X and Z axis

video in use w/ pistol transition training..no vid wearing jacket or vest, but I assure you it clears well...
I didn't realize Safariland's were so pricey, yikes, $200+?

Oh yeah I don't go cheap unless it's just a filler while I figure out what I want. But $200+ is a bit much I think. Even Aliengear is about $70, and they're not known for being the cheaper option.Nothing in this game that’s worth having is “cheap” lol

I want a left hand drop leg holster to fit a 5.5 inch ruger Blackhawk for use when I am weed eating in the pasture anyone have a link to one
I tell you what I did... and it worked out pretty well. I did this for full kit (plate carrier, battle belt combo).
I bought the Blackhawk drop leg rig.
Bought a roll of the camo "grip tape", the non-adhesive wrap.
Bought 2 2x3" Heavy Duty Velcro strips.
Bought a "Thigh Pad" exactly like the ones we used in Football
Wrapped the Thigh Pad with the Camo Wrap Tightly
Placed the velcro on the wrapped Thigh Pad to fit inside the and attach to the Blackhawk drop rig.
I have all Blackhawk retention holsters for my pistols.
Slap on which one I want for that day, and I am good to go.
The Thigh Pad gives you about 1" extra distance from your leg and makes it easy to find without looking. Straight pull as your kit can get in the way.
Easier to get in a car too.. or sit.
That's just a H.O. contraption (Hillbilly Operator)
