Those guys are awesome!
I have a close female friend who lives 20 minutes North of Winston-Salem.
Where is the best place for her to take the CHP Class in that area?
Thanks
Thanks for the quick responses! If anyone has others please chime in.
Apex Defense Group sounds wonderful. Walnut Cove is 20 minutes from her place. Downside is their next CHP Class isn't until 11-28.
TSConver, This Sunday doesn't work (She's a nurse on night shift). Thanks for the quick option. I'll keep you in mind as an option for the third Sunday of next month (I found your site & schedule).
HMP, PM sent requesting Contact and or details.
Thanks guys. This forum is a great community resource.
just fyi - my buddy took the class last month - just got the appt scheduled by forsyth county sheriff today for march 2021. so looks like they are running a little behind.
I know Wilkes was like two months out. Its been crazy.WOW, that is insane. I'm goign to ask my students Saturday to give me feedback on their counties.

I’ve told several people go on and start their application (you do not need the certificate from the class until you go for your appointment) because of the ridiculous wait for an appointment. You gotta wonder about renewals now ... are the renewal appointments backed up beyond the 90 day thing for renewals? Will people get hosed on the if they start the process at 90 days before their CHP expires but can’t get in to turn in their paperwork before that 90 days passes and their CHP actually expires ... you don’t have any paperwork officially filed at the Sheriff’s office just a Internet application no official paper from the Sheriff acknowledging you’ve applied for your renewal.
Mine is ok until July 2023....hope it's all sorted out by then...I’ve told several people go on and start their application (you do not need the certificate from the class until you go for your appointment) because of the ridiculous wait for an appointment. Just to get in the queue ...

I already have a reminder on the phone for 3 months out, to start getting it going! lol. I don't want any issues with that......Best advice, start process 90 days out. You will still be able to carry for 30 days beyond expiration. You just can't purchase a handgun.
The larger liberal counties like Wake just make me wonder if you apply for renewal 90 days out will be able to get an appointment within that 90 period. Say your CHP expires 3/30/2021 and you start renewal on 1/1/21 (90 days prior per State Statutes) will you actually get an appointment to sign and file the application in the Sheriff’s office before 3/30/2021 based on some wait times I’m hearing. I can almost hear King Baker stating his people are booked so far out renewals are SOL ... he’s doing the best he can .Best advice, start process 90 days out.
