I am so tired of this guy running his mouth and running around like chicken little. The world is coming to an end. If people are doing the mask thing, staying in their rabbit hole and swimming in sanitizer and government distancing why is this crap still making headlines. Tell the truth, but numbers in context. So what will the next disaster be that the opposition comes up with that will ruin civilization. Rant off....I have to go find an extension cord to charge my car, so if your lights dim...too bad. Have a great day.

Number of reported cases of Covid in NC - 274,635

Number of deaths attributed to Covid in NC - 4378

Which means 2.6% of the population is reported to have tested positive for Covid, whether no symptoms, mild symptoms, sick as hell, or otherwise

And, drum roll please, .04% have died from it.

That’s four one hundredths of one percent.

Come January see how your numbers are faring. When this spike overcomes the hospital’s abilities the number you quote will be pale in comparison. At present we’re in control of this virus but history proves that may not be the case in the near future. Hope I’m wrong.

The numbers can't and won't get smaller. People can't un-die. If you are saying the death rate as a percentage of cases will increase, I believe the number will continue to decline as more are tested and confirmed as either asymptomatic or having antibodies from a previously unknown case. Of course there will be one tenth of the average amount of flu deaths this year, and a strikingly similar corresponding number of Corona death increases if Trump keeps office.

The meteor is a known whereas the virus is yet to be controlled and that is the real problem; people think their life choices have no bearing on the spread of the disease.

That works as long as you are not one of the numbers. Then there is that possibility of the increase over coming the ability to treat those infected, then what?
 
I don't crowd people, but never have. I wash my hands. I wear a mask when a sign asks me to... which makes me very brave because even a germophobe like me has much much more hand-to-face contact, both consciously and unconsciously, with a mask on. Just like pretty much everybody else. Just open your eyes and watch. My politeness and willingness to accommodate others' irrational feelings therefore puts me at risk. I also don't gather in screaming mobs to burn and loot. So the screeching Karens can KMA. I'm doing more than my part.

There's also the frickin possibility that another damn biobastard bug will come out of the rain forest, Yellowstone will erupt, an asteroid will crash into the earth, or the democrats will accept the second amendment. We are not in control of this virus no more than we are in control of any other disease that torments us on regular basis. Hell, we can't even control the common cold.

If the hospitals are overwhelmed they will do tighter triage. Smaller facilities that were closed down for the rona will open back up as critical care facilities and all non-essential services will be curtailed. People will go home to get better or die. Harsh reality can suck. I may get the rona tomorrow but that's the way it is. If Forsyth Medical Center turns me away, so be it.

If you think that a mask that does not 100% seal off your mouth and nose works you are sadly mistaken. There is a reason that hazmat face masks are fit tested to each individual's face, I did it hundreds of times with my hazmat team. They may work to stop a hocker from blowing out your mouth but other than that they are good psychologically for people. They have no more idea how to properly don and doff a mask than the man in the moon. They have no idea how to handle everything they touch. They bring their kids shopping without a mask then go home give them a kiss and a hug.

If you are scared to live with all the possibilities in life I feel for you.

First of all, all I quoted was statistics. Sorry if that triggered you. Actually, I’m not sorry. Highly annoyed is more like it.

I’ll be 65 in three months. I wear a mask everytime I go someplace that everyone else wears one. Wash my hands, and don’t touch my face. Sort of a do as the Romans do when in Rome. As is stated immediately above this post, your fear of the unknown is nothing more than that. Fear. I don’t want that virus anymore than anyone else does. I also don’t want to see the economy completely tanked and experience the terrible effects of that. Faucci has been wrong more than he’s been right, and repeatedly.

Now do yourself a favor, go poke someone else with your stick. I’m not engaging in this silly argument further.

Out of the 9 million people in the US that have tested positive, how many of those have even had to go to the hospital? Plus, who knows what our actual deaths from Covid-19 really are? There are lots of folks that died with it but not from it. The US just happens to list all those deaths as dying from it. If you are that scared of it, you have the freedom to quarantine yourself in your home from everyone else.

At this point I am dubious as to why Sweden is still a country with anybody alive while they never locked down anything or did much of anything else. They ought to have been wiped out based and what we keep getting told. Somewhere there are some really big holes in this story.

Every time I drive to work I also face a significant risk of getting killed in a a traffic accident.

"Most Deaths" is crap. Who knows what the real numbers are when you subtract those that are manufactured. They've been caught cooking the numbers too many times. I personally believe there are people who should pay a HUGE price for witholding information and therapeutics for political reasons. All you can be sure of is that a very significant portion of what you think "we" know about Covid is a whopper of a lie.

But that is just part of the issue. Does it really? We do know that in many cases people did not die of the virus but with the virus. Granted, if the virus contributed to their demise counting that as a COVID death might be permissible but otherwise certainly not. So how many of the supposed 220K people were really killed by COVID. Because if that was say 100K suddenly things look a lot different, if it was just 50K very different again. I reads somewhere that even the CDC is starting to suspect it may be as little as 10K to 20K true Covid fatalities. That would bring the whole thing down to flu levels of severity.

You know, it’s funny. All I quoted was actual numbers as reported at WRAL, and then I just distilled them into meaningful percentages to illustrate how impactful the virus has or has not been to North Carolinians. Even using these numbers that I imagine are HIGHLY inflated, the percentage of those who have succumbed to Covid is still fractional at worst.

Of course, my reasoning may not be considered sound since I have the impaired judgement that allows me to do dangerous things like shoot and carry guns, and drive motorcycles...

I take a kinder approach. I do not fault him for being scared if he is in the high risk group and does not want to get this bug. Plus having been swarmed with relentless media panic for half a year does not help.

I have to wonder about those masks. Are they being pushed to make the masked ANTIFA and BLM rioting maggots fit into the background better? The same people who are pushing the masks real hard are the same ones who either support or do not condemn the rioters.
