Fellas I can't take much more of this. Trudi called them and fussed at them till they actually gave me a appointment for Tuesday. That is a long time from now at my pain level.

I'm ready to start taking pills till it stops. If Trudi hears that she will probably hide my pills..

Pray for me.

Praying for you my brother. Hang tough.

May I ask, what's going on??

Cervical spinal stenosis.
Right now it feels like I have a 10" Henkels chef knife stabbed through my left shoulder blade and exiting out my chest. My left shoulder and elbow are hurting. Where my shoulder blade meets my spine it feels like the skin is blistered, imagine the worst sunburn ever. Had a headache last night. My neck is stiff on and off, and my fingers will tingle from time to time and even go numb for a short time.

I think it's starting to affect my left leg now. My toes were tingling a bit last nite when I layed down to try and sleep.

There is no such thing as sleep now. Look at my postings from the last few weeks, all hours. I've had maybe 8 hours sleep in the last 72.

I'll also break out in a sweat when the pain gets intense like this morning.
I have a high pain tolerance and I've had kidney stones, but this is a living hell.

Thanks for the info. Among the patients I work with, cervical stenosis is among them. I understand it is a very painful, discouraging, and frustrating disease process. I trust your docs will get you what you need.

I certainly hope your able to get some actual resolution quickly and that you avoid scar tissue on your nerves. My FIL has been going through it and it was really bad before he had surgery for it. He's now going through physical therapy to try to recover. As @Chuckman bssicslly said, as conditions go, this one is miserable.

Hope and pray you get some relief soon Joe.

If your doc is affiliated with Mission Health Care, ask for a PALLIATIVE CARE CONSULT. Even if he's not with Mission, ask for a Palliative Care consult anyway. Palliative Care is a specialist service that works WITH your docs to manage pain, symptoms, etc. They take a whole body/mind approach (not voodoo stuff) that focuses on comfort and dealing with chronic stuff. That leaves your doc focused on fixing what's wrong, the cause, while the PC staff focuses on keeping you sane and comfortable.

Don't let your doc get away with saying "they can't do anything"....most docs think they're god's gift and know everything. PC is a specialist service just like ortho or cardiology, oncology, etc. If you're in the Mission System, the PC service is top notch.

Don't be freaked out if the Palliative Care consult service is aligned with a Hospice service. Many of the care plans are similar, but Palliative Care is all about LIVING with issues, not planning for end of life.

Sorry to hear this. Hope you can get some relief very soon. The pain you are experiencing I am certain is extreme. Will pray for a good outcome on your behalf.

Go find a chiropractor ASAP. I've got pretty severe stenosis (left side) at C6/C7 & when that railroad spike gets jammed under my shoulder blade & my left hand goes numb, I immediately go see my chiropractor & he gets shit back into shape.

Bonus is, since most insurance plans don't cover chiropractic, their rates are very reasonable.

First find out how bad the stenosis is and the "type". My wife had an L4-L5 stenosis and when the doc saw the MRI he told her not to let anyone try to manipulate it or she would like end up paralyzed. She ended up having surgery (laminectomy and fusion) at the end of March and was back to driving and doing most of the things she likes to do after 3 weeks. The amazing part was all the work was done through 3 incisions about an inch to inch and a half each. They had her out of bed and walking 4 hours post-op.

Trudi is giggling constant at me. I am....artificially happy. Happy pills, definitely happy pills. I may actually get more than 3 hours sleep tonight.

At least this love bite from the chair I got from @fieldgrade is healing up nicely.
I can't recommend silver nitrate ointment and colloidal silver highly enough. If you don't have silver nitrate in your "bag" you need some.

Triple A or Neosporin don't work near this fast.
