Watching this evening, and it's surprisingly good - I'd highly recommend it if you like superhero movies (and a lot of deep DC Universe cuts).

I went in knowing very little about it and with low expectations after Birds of Prey.

Great and well done LARGE cast with a ton of cameos, tons of action and humor. Harley is in this, but it's really an ensemble cast.

Yeh shots to the face body's torn apart ect. Good movie. But I would say it's darker and more gory and language than Deadpool. I enjoyed it

It’s on the agenda for this afternoon/evening.

Also going in with low expectations thanks to Birds of Prey.

But we did watch Once Upon A Time In Hollywood last night…so I’m ok with some more Margot Robbie. 😁

Although this is dc, there are a couple of short scenes during and at the end of the credits so stick through the end

It really speaks volumes about a movie when they remake it in only a couple of years.
It's meant to be a sequel ... that lets you forget about the horrible original.
In the 2016 one, Waller was setting up the program. In this one, the program has already been in operation for a while and this is just one of the missions.
And that lady plays Waller excellently. all business and ice cold.

oh man birds of prey was pretty much garbage.
it's just amazing to me how bad most of the DC films are.
meanwhile, the animated DC films that keep coming out are generally well done and stick to the comic storylines without going too far off the rails. And with better acting (voice)
I feel like at over 40, i should be watching less cartoons... but if the movies just aren't as good, i'm not going to apologize.

That was…weird.

Can’t imagine watching it again. But wife and I made it through to the end.

Watched it. Had a few laughs at some jokes that really landed, groaned at a couple of jokes that didn’t (and honestly it seemed more editing/timing than writing in most cases). Action direction was fine… if Gunn’s scripts and movies do anything well, they are mindful of where characters are in relation to one another.

I think I saw a Benelli M2 3-gun featured prominently. Also, Glocks with RMRs. Glad to see film armorers normalizing good equipment instead of making inane prop decisions.

I’m glad there was a good bit of practical effects/gore to break up the CG everything else.

No spoilers: some of the villains in this movie were extremely well done. Completely understandable motivations and actions.

I didn't like it. In fairness, I didn't really "get it" either. Not a huge comic fan so it didn't reach me perhaps. It was better than Birds of Prey. Just hard to see how this fits in with the DC universe shared by the Justice League.

I watched it last night it wasn't terrible I too think a better job of editing would have helped greatly
Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn helps keep one's interest

Can I nominate THIS "squad" for suicide? Arkancide? Soroside? I'm not particular. 😁

I watched it last night.

Really caught off guard the first few opening minutes. The weasel had me cackling though. And Nathan Fillian as T.D.K. had me thinking about wth did I just watch?

I wouldn't watch it again, which for me is the ultimate measure of a movie's entertainment value.

I’m in blue, buddy is the other one… 😁

It’s James Gunn, so if you expect more Slither and Super than Guardians of the Galaxy, the tone makes sense.

Those earlier films have a ton of body horror/humor, black comedy, purposefully bad jokes, long setups for trivial callbacks, and deliberately goofy set pieces.

If you’re expecting something more like the original Suicide Squad crossed with Deadpool, then this one will not make sense tonally.

Well, not hated, but certainly not loved. I went in wanting to like it, but only chuckled about 2 times. They really tried to “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Deadpool” it up too much and it fell way short! A space starfish...really?

Yeah, but the way it was done was really weak. Tough for Superman and others but they (censored)...🤔
spoilers!

but yeah, i wasn't especially pleased with how they fought that battle either

Watched it "free" on HBO MAX. Can't believe my wife sat thru the whole thing. "NUM NUM!!!"

My wife and I really enjoyed it.

Shark guy was voiced by Sylvester Stallone. Somehow that is more funny to me.

Decent post credits scene that sets up the new show The Peacemaker on HBO.
The show is similar to the movie and very funny and schlocky in a good way

I agree, just watched the movie yesterday and watching peacemaker today. I've always hated john cena, but i think he found his place with this character. He's big, but gets his ass kicked a fair amount. He's also funny which helps quite a bit. I'm glad im watching it. It gives me something to laugh at while waiting for this omicron to go away.

He also seems to have grown up in the 90’s (the Peacemaker character) so he teases and taunts in a way that is 90’s kids understand, but these kids today think is overly mean and cruel, mostly because they are sensitive little crybabies.
Also, the opening dance number: as I have said before, it lets you know you are in for some high grade schlock and cheese like a great action movie from the 80’s and 90’s, ESPECIALLY the part of the dance number where Robert Patrick, the Liquid Metal Terminator starts dance humping.

Im 50 minutes in to this and not sure how much longer I'll watch.

Have I had a few chuckles? Yes. One or two. The one that comes to mind is when crew 1 goes into the village and kills everyone and the leader asks where their people are. "We didnt see anyone"

But, as cute of a woman Margot is, I hate this character and dressed like she is with the tattoos and such does little for me.

I'll give it a few more minutes and likely turn it off.

DC just doesnt do much for me with their movies. Keep trying and I keep being disappointed in them.
