STILL having problems and cannot send Private Messages! Can somebody please HELP ME!

Maybe, they’d get a clue that I’d they’re asking this question, they’re not really welcome here.

Actually, I’ve gotten a lot of messages that made me feel very welcome. Everyone has been very welcoming and kind. Sorry you feel that way.
What he meant was, new members “artificially” building their post count by serially welcoming every new armslist refuge who arrives here to sell guns and ammo.

For instance, someone who has been here for a year with 17 posts. We sorta assume they have no real interest in the community. Just here to sell stuff. Could be wrong.

I've just started blocking them.

meh...I don't see it that way. It's all in the response. This guy, @MacCod01 , seems to be taking it in stride and just asked the question. Do I wish folks would read the stickies? Yup. But I probably wouldn't either. He's not getting his drawers twisted like some of the others we've seen. So, I say "Welcome".

Edit: Especially the guys that were here 'before' and got caught up in the change without getting a notice at registration. We changed the rules, they ask about the rules. All good.

Nothing “artificial” about me. I’m straight up. I don’t mind mind telling you up front that I don’t do a lot of selling. I like to keep my stuff. Now on the other hand I do like to buy. And I have spent most of my time in that year looking at the classifieds. And there is very much there that interest me. The whole forum experience is new to me. I stumbled across the site while searching for a few rifles that I have been looking for. So yes the classifieds are my favorite part, but I’m not a pawn shop owner looking to push merchandise or anything like that. I say all that with the upmost respect I hope it doesn’t come across wrong.

Welcome!

Conversing on a forum can be a challenge. My apologies if I got you wrong.

Thanks! No apologies needed. I didn’t take that in any sorta way. It it did make wonder about what perceptions someone could get. I can understand how it’s easy to be skeptical of people and have your Gaurd up. Which is one reason I just set back alot. I wish y’all a good evening as I’m about to turn in for the night.

What I'm trying to point out, is the fallacy of using post counts as a determinate of legitimacy. Now do I have a viable alternative. No I don't. I do think that, perhaps making posts in the welcome forum not count in your post counts would alleviate that possibility.

Just consider that this is more than a BST venue and the people that comprise it don‘t care for it to be a BST venue. Take a hint. Hint. Hint.

It’s more of a “bots aren’t gonna make posts” defense. Nothing “we” do is going to be 100% effective short of actual eyeballs on individual posts.

And ain’t nobody got time for that.

You ever figure out the number? Love to know so I can buy things I don't need
Yes we know the number. But 3 isn’t even a decent attempt at joining in. I assure you it’s not a big number…but put in a little effort.

If somebody posts the actual number, it’ll get deleted if staff sees it.

Ahhh I can respect that. I'm not in any rush... Just getting into the forum for the first time since moving back and of course trolling the selling boards. Good rule to keep the sketchy people out.

That comes from being retired,
Fixed but not fast enough 😂
Staying home with 3 girls it happens as well and quite frequently. My wife has started making me a calendar of all the stuff and any appointments and what not so I don’t forget. But sometimes I forget to look at the calendar haha

You ruined my plan.

Thanks.
