I know we all joke about "if they ever searched my house they would think I was training a small country's army" when we see stories of busts that found a "stockpile" of weapons and ammo. Sometimes we're a little cheeky, but this is ridiculous.

"Police searched Johnson's apartment on the 18th floor and found two assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines, all of which are illegal in California, as well as three semiautomatic pistols, a sniper rifle, a shotgun and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition."

THE HORROR!

Other than it being "illegal" in Kommiefornia, these people would shat themselves if they saw any other ordinary collection. This is a like the quantity that comes with the "I'm new to guns and want to get started" mail order start kit! 1,000 rounds of ammo?!?! That's warning level low for most people!!!

My goal was to eventually have what one might find in their local NG Armory. Such should be sufficient to defend my family and neighborhood.
Then I got a tour of our NG Armory and all I could say was "You guys have all this room and you only have this many firearms?"

I expect a longer list if you get stopped on the way to the range.

I had a buddy from GA come up a couple years ago for a long weekend. I took him to the range to try a wide variety of things. I told him I really hope we don’t get stopped or in an accident because I’ve got 13 firearms and a crap load of ammo in here. The headlines would have been ”2 White Neo Nazi’s planned mass shooting at Black Transvestite Night Club. Weapons of mass destruction found in vehicle.”

What troubles me are the cops who blindly follow their rulers by stepping on everyone's rights. Perhaps defunding them is not a bad idea?
The left wants to defund local police and sheriff departments because many will not blindly follow the government. If local agencies are defunded, the government will replace it with some type of national police force to maintain some semblance of law and order. Be careful what you wish for

Nothing is wrong with my .22, just the remington .22 bullets are trash. Me and my cousin had a ruger mark II, ruger mark III, and a 10/22 they were very unreliable! CCI is the best .22 ammo on market. MHO
Hmm ok. It's been pretty reliable in my guns. I have a browning buckmark and a CZ 457.

the picture is a bit bigger if you right click open it in a new tab. not clear enough to get great Ds though. 3 rifles, 3 pistols, and a shotgun. To the article's credit, it lists the "assault weapons" as illegal before listing the "sniper rifle" (ruger precision), shotgun, and pistols. I'd be surprised if all 3 pistols were on the approved list, but since cops can import anything there and their magic blue touch somehow makes unsafe guns legal, the article didn't immediately say they were illegal.

1000 rounds of ammo huh? So, two boxes of Remington thunderbolt?
yeah man. i normally have a thousand or to rounds of ammo kept outside of my stockpile for easy access.

I see one AR laying in the case. The scoped rifle doesn't seem to have an AR type ejection port but I don't see a bolt handle either. Seems to be a 308 or related caliber by the mag laying behind it. The one laying on the table has a HK style charging handle, may be a PCC or a 22. Nope, looks like there's a 5.56 round next to the mag beside it.

We got stopped in GA going down to a large shooting event. Had two Denalis full of firearms and ammo. So of course both trucks stopped and that confused the officer even more. And the fact we had radios and driving in pairs didn't help. Well, the question: "Do you have any firearms in the truck?" got asked. Boy was he surprised. It was easier to say what we didn't have.....Then had to explain the other truck was just ammo.

From the article:
Braxton Johnson was taken into custody Tuesday after he allegedly made violent threats to security staff at the apartment building and people outside, police said.
Emphasis mine. So, he was arrested on the he-said she-said of someone else. Sorry, but that dog doesn't hunt.

They'll probably find out his "assault rifles" are totally compliant and neutered per CA law.

Nobody who is anti-gun has any understanding of gun laws. Whenever I get into a discussion with someone anti-gun the very first thing I ask is:
"Yeah, seems like the laws need to be tougher. What are the requirements for obtaining a gun legally here in this state right now?"

They never know the answer to the most basic question. Go to CA and I bet most of the police don't know the answer either.

Stockpile in Kalifornistan, starter kit in the USA.

But do we know they stepped on his rights? The article isn’t clear. Was a warrant issued for his arrest or was it an on view arrest? Was a search warrant issued to search his home? If not, then Johnson gets free and a payday. Not taking up for the police in this situation. I’m just saying there isn’t a lot of clear information for me to base an opinion.

Welcome to what passes for journalism today. If I were to write like most articles are today back when I was in grade school, I would have flunked.

Yeah, journalism sucks today.
I suspect that it has something to do with writing style being downstream of culture and writing has become A LOT less formal than it used to be, especially with things like text messaging. I have no idea if they even stress any sort of writing or writing style in school anymore. You and I probably belong to the last generation to learn cursive writing too.

So you put a scope on an AR-15 or AR-10 and it becomes an even scarier sniper rifle?

The scoped rifle has the magwell of a Ruger precision. The one on the table is some form of magpul'd ak. The AR on the case has an interesting offset red dot, can't tell if there is an optic at 12 o'clock. Shotty looks like a "Turk"nelli.

Idk pistols but one looks like a sigma. Don't know gear either.

Pretty sure the green box is federal 9mm 1k you could get at Walmart a while back...

Fear the unknown and all that. Looks like my last range trip if I'd forgotten half my stuff🤣

Big rifle is an RPR. You can tell by the magwell, and the bolt is up and aft (you can tell by zooming in on the picture). The next gun is an AK with Magpul MOE AKM handguard and Zhukov folding stock, some handgun, then looks like a Sig P226 or something similar. Shotty definitely looks like a Mossberg (500?) to me (look where the bolt release is on the bottom right of the receiver), then an AR and a (more than likely) Spartan Armor vest.

All that being said, 1,000rds is destitute level stockpile… ESPECIALLY for having an AK. Most of mine like any flavor of 7.62x39, so buy cheap and stack deep!

OK, from the article...

Several rifles were pointed from windows toward a nearby park, the LAPD had said. Police didn't identify the park, but online maps show a dog park next to the apartment complex.

At a news conference Wednesday, police Lt. Leonid Tsap had said there was a “high chance" that officers, along with building security staff and witnesses who grabbed Johnson, had “prevented a mass shooting."

But police backtracked in a statement Thursday.

At this point of the investigation, there are no indications that any persons were threatened with a firearm nor have we identified any intent by Johnson to plan a mass shooting incident," the statement said. “We are working with our federal partners to exhaust all investigative leads and believe there is no threat to the public."
