Only thing worse, IMO, is watching someone using a wire wheel with no glasses. The wheel of flying flachettes, will get you at some point!I cringed when he cut the rail off, entirely because he was running the grinder without glasses.
Still better than the kryloned attempts at Crye crap I've seen before lolPaint job suggested and approved by @NCLivingBrit

Did he at least safety squint?I cringed when he cut the rail off, entirely because he was running the grinder without glasses.
Yeah,And did tons of shooting including shooting at metal stuff at close range, and shooting a gun that could potentially blow up, with no eye pro.
It's so unbelievably stupid. What an idiot.
I wonder what the break even is, no idea what a click is worth.Said that dumb people do this for youtube clicks
Yeah,
And we watched it. Lol so he got his click rate
Gun channels are not monetized like other content on YouTube.I wonder what the break even is, no idea what a click is worth.
I need this on the wall of my workroom.
The eye pro thing definitely stood out to me as well. Pure idiocy.
That said, if he got that SR15 from KAC....it's one hell of an advertisement.
@barf and I had a back-n-forth about "does your high dollar stuff actually run" not so long ago. My contention was that I see a LOT of high dollar stuff on the range and matches being babied while the poor's (me) are beating the crap out of their PSA and Anderson home brews with good success.
This video put me solidly in the "ok...that SR15 took an unreasonable amount of abuse and kept ticking, I'm not sure my franken-gun would do that..." camp.
Idiocy aside, that was the most intense torture test I've seen. And the rifle didn't have a fatal error for a very long time.
at a class with people and some high tier rifles. everybody had parts loosen or just fall off. I don't think there were any exceptions. me and my suppressed psa sbr made it through the first 2/3 okay, but i didn't stake the castle nut it came all the way loose, sling made tube turn sideways, and lost my buffer retaining pin. I asked for 30 seconds off the line, pitched the gun into the mud beside the line, pulled out my backup poors tier M&P 15, and jumped right back on the line. Instructor gave me a strange look at first, but he's been through enough stuff that he just nodded and said something like "yeah, gotta do what you gotta do to stay in". I wasn't the only one who had to go to a backup rifle. but i was smart enough to bring my own backup instead of having to ask to use somebody else's unfamiliar setup.@barf and I had a back-n-forth about "does your high dollar stuff actually run" not so long ago. yeah, we were told to "check" for loose stuff at the beginning of the class. then laughed at by the instructor when our checks proved to be... insufficient.Expensive early lesson learned when I started doing matches like 3-Gun and RnG where you're tending to bounce your stuff around more than usual. Before every match, I torque everything to spec. Even holster hardware.
Yeah I want to see this same test on another manufacturers rifle as well. Aero, PSA, LMT, BCM whoever. Just a factory rifle. It would have been very interesting to do the same test with several rifles at same time. Basic M4, a cheap PSA, etc.
Kind of a missed opportunity.
Knights Armament mostly make rifles for military contracts. Sell a small amount to the civilian market. They are a little over 3k at present for a full rifle. They were about 2500 pre-Covid.I'm guessing this is a high end AR? I'm not familiar with the company.
Link?Lol. Someone tried to sell it on The Black on FB too.
Yeah Mike Jones stock was about to fall off his shotgun last 3 gun. Had to use Jim’s for the last stage. Loctite all the things and torque to 100ft/lbs.Expensive early lesson learned when I started doing matches like 3-Gun and RnG where you're tending to bounce your stuff around more than usual. You really think a BCM upper is equivalent to a KAC upper?Imagine BCM with a fancy gas block and intermediate gas system.
That costs as much as custom billet handmade JP.

I guess the military keeps a 12-15 round per minute cadence.

That doesn’t negate the fact that their barrel failed after 2000 rounds and they did actually send that email.
Honestly, I don’t know the guy in the video you provided. So I’m not disputing his account and experience with BCM. You also have a valid agreement that BCM could sell inferior barrels to the civilian market. I don’t know their business practices. And I acknowledge any mass produced product will have some lemons. That doesn’t negate the fact that their barrel failed after 2000 rounds and they did actually send that email.
They replaced it. Twice.
It’s called damage control. That also doesn’t mean they don’t sell their barrels that don’t meet military specs to civilians.
Agree whole heartedly. Things slip by QC. Mostly turned off by their response to the issue. I get not trusting the YouTuber but I don’t think he had anything to gain from lying. He’s also not the only one. Here is another instance.Honestly, I don’t know the guy in the video you provided. So I’m disputing his account and experience with BCM. I can speak about my experience with my BCM rifle that has been shot thousands of rounds. Most of which were high cadence drills. Both suppressed and unsuppressed, with no issues. I am a satisfied customer.
