As an early adopter (and quick abandoner) of the AKDAL 1919, I'm considering buying a magfed shotgun for 3 gun (local). Why? Just for fun.
I've had the AKDAL, which wouldn't run light loads even after work was done by more than one smith. Bought a Saiga 12 next. It ran great, but never got the hang of the closed bolt reload.
Currently looking at the RIA VR 80 (couple of them being shot in local matches), possibly the KUSA K12 (learn to live with the reload issue or figure it out), or Vepr 12. Have read mostly bad reviews of K12 with birdshot.
I like the VR 80 price, but hear that drums are hit or miss and QC is all over the map. Local shop had a used one that had to go back after buyer put @17 shells through it. I like the Vepr, but it's spendy and I worry about parts availability. Also one them at my local shop.
I can't afford the Fostech 12 or anything like that.
Thanks in advance.
