My wife lives her VP9. She has arthritis in her wrists. The wings and the relatively light recoil spring make it very easy to rack.
Muzzle control, even for my niece who weighs 110# was a breeze. It helps that she is a natural shooter.
I have the VP40. Shoots easier than any other 40 I have tried.
My soon loves both the VP9 and the VP40.

Visor of muy niece shooting the vp40. Is there was an issue with muzzle flip toy would see it with her.I saw the video from Hickok 45 on the VP40. He did not give it a very good review because of the muzzle flip. Of course he's married to his G23 as a disclaimer

My wife really wants one, but she wants a reflex sight on it, so I'm waiting until the optic ready version comes out which should hopefully be late 2017 early 2018 from what I hear.
Why? Unless resale is a concern, having the slide milled for a specific optic is always better than getting one of the generic, one cut fits all, optics ready models.
Fair enough. Be warned though....optics on pistols are addicting and they have a tendency to multiply. I know mine did.I've considered that, but I'm not thrilled by the idea of having my slide milled for one specific optic and appreciate having the option of switching it out if I don' like it or something much better comes along next season.
Also, if the sight suddenly affects the pistol's reliability, I can always send it back to H&K or sell it stock as a last resort.
Got some family coming over this evening and will finally get a chance to shoot the VP9
Will update with my thoughts later
Loved the way they shoot. The only issue is my thumbs forward position caused the slide to not lock back.
I'm going to buy a couple sleeves to run the 15's in the SK.
