A Springfield 1873 Trapdoor I just picked up and looking at making it a project. Barrel looks good but has a crack in the stock otherwise a good cleaning is all I am hoping have to do. Need to find a cleaning rod as well as this one was missing.
I want one of those so bad. Very difficult to find one that hasn't had the cylinder butchered.
This is one of my favorite "Wish it could talk" guns. Made under the German's noses in Tula arsenal 1941, and somehow wound up in the States without being refurbed or import marked.
M-1 rifles have what appears to be an extra sling swivel on the forearm. It's actually called a stacking swivel. It was designed to allow stacking the rifles in a tripod. I took a few pics today since the weather was nice. I'm sure there is a reference in a military training manual somewhere as to how to properly hook three rifles together but since I never had the honor of serving in the military I may have these hooked incorrectly.

I'd been wanting to take that pic for a few years but I had to wait until I had 3 M-1's. Finally got there.

Works with more than m1s the 1917 and 1903 should have similar sling points
They sure do! I just can't believe I had never heard that those were stacking swivels. I love learning new things!

There's a bonus one too. Liberation ring made for the first allied troops to enter an unknown small French town. Given to my grandfather and passed down to me. Invaluable

My uncle's 1911A1... dad has it now since he's passed. This one's been in the family a while and made trips to Vietnam in 63/64 and 67/68. The original Remington upper assy was replaced with the Colt before he retired in 1976

It’s not in the best condition, but it’s a 1941 manufactured M-1 that’s been rebuilt during WWII. At least all the parts are 1945 or earlier.
That one's got that "been there, done that" look.
