Higgins (High Standard) Model 30 and a Mossberg 151B. Detail stripped the Mossy today , figured it was due after almost 70 yrs old . Next weekend the High Standard.

Haven't shot either one but looking forward to a trip to the range soon. Working can really get in the way of fun hobbiesl221.jpg

.22 Pattern ‘14 No1 Enfield. Great shooter and a lot of fun.

This is the first repeating bolt action .22 rimfire produced by Remington. This one was made in 1935 (barrel code "AD"). Action functions like new and it's still very accurate. I believe the unique cartridge lift system was only used on a couple rifles; the model 34 and the model 341. This is last of the Remington "Smaller" rifles. After this one, the stocks got a tad longer and a little fatter. I've heard that it was because people in general were getting larger in the USA. This a nice example with the case colored butt plate and chrome bolt handle in very good condition. The only part probably not original is a Marbles semi-buckhorn rear sight.

Which International is that?? Looks like either a Mk I or Mk II.
Did you do the stock work?? That is as nice a one as I've ever seen.
I'm not sure without looking if it is a Mk I ,or II.
I did refinish the wood. It was old, cracked, and had range stickers on it.
I may should have left it alone, but it was not pleasing to my likes.
She is a fine shooter.

You did an excellent job and I don't think you took anything away from the rifle. I've had a few of the Mk II's and all of them had nice wood, but nothing like yours. One of mine also had a Unertl on it and it shot very well. With the scope it weighed 14 lbs. 12 oz. which made it super steady to bench shoot.

My '59 Marlin 39A-

Don't have any pics of my 2 old CZ-452s. Stunning little rifles. Need to get a good pic of my Marlin 60DLX. Beautiful wood & great shooter with a Weaver 2.5-7x28.

My grandfather bought me one of the Golden 39A's for my 11th birthday in 1955. Sure put a bunch of ammo through it at .50 cents a box, but that was a big expense jump for me since I'd been shooting BB's for ..05 cents a tube...:)

You have a great example there. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Thanks. One of my favorite guns. Very accurate & just a little mechanical jewel.

Beautiful 989M2s! I've got my childhood '69 99M1 in the safe, patiently awaiting restoration. Got a new buffer, sear, springs, etc. waiting to go in, but I haven't gotten up the nerve yet to tear into 'er.

Thank you....the one on the left above, top photo here, is the "Holy Grail" of 989 M2's, 1st year of production and still has the factory sticker under the forend. The stock was slightly different on the first year models, note the forend at the front barrel band is cut straight instead of rounded as in later year production. The "Tiger Striping" in the wood on this rifle is very beautiful.

My first rifle. I've had it 36 years last fall. Stevens Model 15 single shot. I got it for a birthday present and it had been used quite a lot before I ever laid eyes on the rifle. I learned to make the first shot count with this rifle as the chamber had been ringed by a previous owner(s) shooting .22 Short rounds. If I missed and was using fast .22 ammo like Vipers or Stingers I had to dig the empty out with my pocket knife. Aim small miss small by necessity was the rule if I wanted to come home with rabbit and squirrels in the game bag. I still take it out for a few squirrel hunts at home. My step-dad worked overtime hours to buy this for me. It is a cherished memory as much as it is a rifle.
