That's what I was leaning towardsCan go wrong with any cover that's finned for heat dissipation and has added oil capacity. I personally like the Mag Hytec's look and plan to eventually add one to my Ram.
yup on the friction modifier. Ford already is using a high quality synthetic diff fluid. Rear fluid is rated for 100,000 miles, front is 150,000 unless contaminated with water or mud in thru the vents@Mike Overlay
Do I still need the Motorcraft friction modifier if I go with Amsoil gear oil?

True...but I just like the look! Lolyup.
But pretty sure you would be wasting your money unless you just absolutely have to have that look.
I have seen diff failures before, but none could have been from over heating. All the ones I have repaired or replaced were due to bearings failing due to low fluid from ignored leaks. Or the Dodges from crappy ring and pinion gears.
If it was such a big issue, why doesnt every over the road truck have that set up on their rear ends? Pretty sure their diffs go thru a lot more abuse than the pickup truck/luxury sedans of today do
by all means then, go for it.True...but I just like the look! Lol
