OCTOBER 13 & 14, 2018

Make your plans now for the Fall Meet & Greet at Battery Oaks Range at 2055 Mikes Road Conway, SC 29526. @BatteryOaksBilly and his wife, Ronnie Sue, have graciously offered the range for the gathering. This event will be held rain, shine, sunny, cloudy, and maybe even during a hurricane, depends on the Category.

Battery Oaks is located just minutes from the beaches of the Grand Strand. For those that wish to stay overnight, there are hundreds of hotels and condos available nearby and in October rates are lower than in the summer. Billy is also able to accommodate some self contained campers/RVs (no power , water, sewer hook ups available), tent campers, and plenty of trees to hang a hammock.

We know that many of the members are awesome grillers and BBQers. We'll see who will want to bring a grill or cooker and show off their skills. Others, can contribute a covered dish or something. Y'all know what to do. We'll get more into this as we get closer to the event.

Yes, it's months away but we will be talking about and planning as we go. As time draws closer, we will start to get a head count to get an idea of the number of guests. Then, we can plan accordingly.

By all means, please try to make it to this. You'll be glad that you did.

Edit:
Since there will be live fire on the premises, everyone will be required to sign a liability waiver/consent form. Also, due to the way the waiver/consent form is written, this event will be for ages 21 and over.

Battery Oaks is a non-smoking facility. That said, there is a burn barrel that can be used as a smoking area. As it should be, just clean up after yourself and police the others if needed. We need to leave the entire area in the condition that it was found, or better.

Alcohol consumption will not be tolerated due to liability issues. Live fire and alcohol don't mix. That said, the ones that elect to camp overnight can have a drink while sitting around talking about the day's events. As always, don't get out of hand and clean up after yourselves.

Battery Oaks has neighbors nearby and Billy lives on site. After dark the noise will need to be kept low to show respect to our hosts and their neighbors. We're all adults now, let's act like it and, hopefully, we'll get invited back.

Thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation.

I am going to add this event to my schedule and hope nothing interferes and that I can get the time off work.

So no one gets bored, I think anyone going should drive 110mph to the location. The person with the best story wins!

:p
Bonus points if you have video of the troopers pulling you over and Double Bonus if they use the dogs to search your car.

Uhhhhhh, can't do it. Weekend already spoken for. We have paid for hotel room and tickets to NHRA in Charlotte that weekend.
I had totally forgotten we are going to the fall race this year instead of 4 wide in the spring.

Can you give me a description of the range or ranges if there multiple shooting areas and access?
Also are MG's and steel targets allowed?

We have a 100 yard rifle range, a 300 yard rifle range, and a CQB range with 30+ targets. We shoot nothing but steel from 1 yard to 300. All weapons platforms and all calibers from .17 to 50BMG.
We are NOT open to the public. We do NOT have rental range time or memberships. It is invitation ONLY. If you are invited there is never any charge for anything.
Please, Google B&M Rifles to see more of what we are about.

Only people who are sure of their ability make fun of themselves.
Maybe also people who spent the afternoon on the range and, therefore, have a firm grasp of their abilities. :(

wow....so you manufacture custom loads and the rifles to shoot them?
Yes. We have rifles on every continent but the frozen ones. Thanks for looking. I wish more people would. We do a lot of testing for small "boutique" ammo makers. We can test chamber pressures every inch along the way and have doplar radar for velocities from the muzzle to 50 yards. We have the only 50 yard indoor range in this state that I am aware of. On a visit by J.D. Jones he said B&M had done more research on big bore rifles than had been done in the last 50 years. A great compliment. Within one week of Winchester closing we had bought almost 200 model 70s in deluxe grades. All are gone but about 6.

Billy, I just looked at the site for a few minutes.
Damn you guys have some nice wood on those rifles and some very interesting cartridges.
I'll be reading more from the site later.

My dad's birthday is 10/13 (he'll be 68). He's not a gun guy, but has asked me in the last year to help him get his SC CCW and a pistol. Other things just keep getting in his way at this point. Maybe I can convince him that the two of us need to come down in the RV.

He'll probably have few other opportunities to try out as many guns. ;)
