Pistol Picture Thread

Picked up this very good condition, nearly new, Smith & Wesson 6946 today. This package was made for sale to a law enforcement agency, as noted on the box. Came with three magazines (double stack 12 rds). It has an alloy frame, stainless slide, DAO.

My only complaint is the stupid magazine base plate finger extension. Makes the gun damned neat unconcealable. Need a flat mag base...

Real easy to up that 6946 from 12+1...

...to 15+1 and get rid of that pinky extension at the same time.

Genuine S&W factory part “Grip Plus2” that was once available.

These won’t fit on the 12 round mags as they aren’t extensions. They were made to use with 15 round mags from the longer grip frame pistols so as to adapt them to the 6946 or other same size S&W autos.

Once there were a couple of Gunbroker sellers that listed new 15 round mags with the adapter attached.

Might find some on S&W Forum.

You mean like this one?

Didn't know I could find one so close to home. Why didn't you tell me?

Mine doesn't have the logo on the right side of the frame and arrived with a broken sear spring. :(

While I'm ordering that spring, anything else you suggest I keep "in stock"?

I even have the receipt from when it was bought new. It has been shot very little and still had a bunch of the copper grease inside of the slide. The crap on the barrel is dust. AKV prefix serial.
Now....where’s my soldering iron? I keed, I keed!

The natural thing to do when you can't find an NL. o_O

Put down the soldering iron and back away. That's a very nice looking Gen 2.

Thank you Sir. I couldn’t bring myself to molest it. I put some Talon Grips on it and am going to put it in the rotation.
You are the one who taught me that a 19/23 could be pocket carried. And you thought I wasn’t paying attention!

My police trade P229 .40 S&W, I added the Mec-Gar Plus-Two adapters to the factory magazines.

@Cocked & Locked what's the difference between the magazine without the slot and all the others?

I would guess the ability to reverse the mag catch for a lefty.
I just received a NIB 5906 magazine. It has that slot of both sides of the magazine. I still wonder how that one magazine works in his gun.
