Since nobody followed up on naming a winner and picking a target from the October results, I'm going to throw this one out there. It'll run from today through 1/1/19, to include all the holidays (and hopefully days off) for most everybody.

Standard CFF Monthly Rimfire Benchrest Challenge Rules
- Target Size: Standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper - Choose the "Print to fit" option when printing.
- Target distance: 50 yards
- Any shooting position you'd like
- Front rests, bipods, front/rear shooting bags, bunny ears, ... etc. are all ok.
- No full length rifle mechanical rail/sled type rests allowed
- Iron sights or optics of your choice are all allowed
- All done on the honor system. Shoot it, score it, post it.
- Winner chooses the target and challenge for the next month.
- Post copy of your target, setup, where shot, and score

Scoring:
- 6 targets to shoot
- 10 shots per page
- Max of 3 hits per package, if there are more they are scored as zeros (to make sure you shoot all four positive packages, and don't load up the big one at the bottom left. ;)
- A hit is any shot touching only one target. So you can put it completely inside a gift, or breaking the line around the outer edge...but if it splits two packages, including ribbon, it's a zero
- The point value of each package is listed at the top, four are positives, two are negatives

Tie Breaker(s):
1. Rescore your target in this method: any shot touching color but not touching ribbon, so 100% inside a color portion, counts as double...and this goes for both positive and negative point values. So take that into account when you're taking your shots.
2. If necessary, cheapest price (per round) of the going rate for ammo used, based on whatever site we can find with any ammo used by those that end in a tie. We'll start with Outdoor Limited, then Brownell's, then Midway, and hope we're done by then. :D

somebody please let me know if the PDF attachment works...

Just for reference when looking at the rules, here's what the target looks like:

You ought to be able to print B&W if you need to, just remember what goes where. Or have your kids/grandkids color it for you. :D

PDF works fine. Hopefully I will be able to get out next week

Rules make sense? I had to make them up...all it had was the +/- scoring at the top. Let me know if there are any questions...I'm sure I didn't think it all the way through. :D

I had another one I almost used, but this one fit the theme much better.

Seem good and why would you want to screw up and think something all the way through. My wife would have a heart attack if I ever did that!

I love shooting our fun targets. I need to get some glass for my rifle, so I can try to shoot this. I’ve spent more time shooting my airgun since I sold the Vudoo, and October and November have been crazy busy.

I must be a dumbass. I can't figure out the rules as explained in the initial post. How many hits per on each of the six targets and how do you come up with 10 shots per page? Are you not shooting at any of the green boxes?

There are four "good" targets to shoot at. Take 10 shots total, but no more than 3 at a single present.

So 3/3/3/1, or 3/3/2/2, or whatever other combo works. You don't intentionally shoot at the green/negative presents.

I added the 3max rule just so nobody tries to put 10 in the same present.

That help at all?

Now, do you think we would try that?;)
I would've. Just aimed at the red one close to the top/right, and hope I either hit it every time or missed and hit orange.

Yep, it certainly does, thanks!

Went and shot this last friday. it was fun. Going to go back and shoot it again soon though, mainly cause i think i tossed all the targets.
Question though:
"- A hit is any shot touching only one target. So you can put it completely inside a gift, or breaking the line around the outer edge...but if it splits two packages, including ribbon, it's a zero"
That implies the ribbon from the other package right?
So you can shoot that packages ribbon, except for tie breaker? So like the red X's below are bad, green circles are fine?
Cause that was what I thought, but reading it again, i may have gotten a zero.. cause i hit ribbon (like green circle ribbons) on almost every shot.
:)

Hitting the ribbon of the package is fine. Hitting two different packages and/or ribbons is not.

That clear?

Looks fun! I’ll give it a try in a week or so.

Haven’t really shot my 2017 Black Friday 10/22 build for accuracy yet but this will be a great time to put it up against my FVSR.

OK, I went to PHA today and shot CCI AR Tactical 22LR 40gr. Here is the ammo:

Here is my target:

I was shooting off a front rifle rest and a rear bag. 3x7 Nikon 22LR scope. Am I correct in that I scored a +50 on the target? Or, am I down 5 points?

Edited for shooting set and optics used.

I'd say 50. But I only count 9 holes, so there must be a double-tap I missed. (Looking again, probably 3 holes in the bottom present?)

Nice shot on the "ribbon only" hit...gonna claim that was intentional? ;)

Yeah, bottom present has three hits. When I was shooting the top present, the wind started whipping around and so I had to "time" my shots but as evidenced by the group, I wasn't very successful. Thanks!

Looks good man. That is nice shooting, and even better with that ammo. What were you shooting?

Also, and I might be wrong, wouldn’t the large present on the right get you zero points, because the ribbon is for that present and makes it 4 hits? Maybe I’m wrong.

I hope I can find some one to get out there. Just need some good weather in a couple of weeks.

Thanks, I was shooting off a front rifle rest and a rear bag. You know what I was shooting:p: The Volquartsen VM-22.

According to Big Waylon (the OP), hitting the ribbon is fine and if you look close, the ribbon I hit is actually in front of the top present.

I might go back out and try it again with the Tikka T1X if it gets here before the end of the contest.

Nice!!! It is a shooter as expected. I was hoping you would say that.

The problem with that ribbon is it is ribbon of the package you already shot. Ribbons do count, but it would have counted for the package it is tied to, right?

Heck, I want you to get 50 with that rifle! But I also want to catch you if I get to shoot. I am curious how I can do with low end ammo. That tiebreaker might come into play.

Please try it with the T1x!

Yeah, I completely missed that when I was counting. One of those shots is a zero, so target scored a 45.

Finally made it out today. It was a nice day at the range.

Rifle: Anschutz 64 sbr
Optic: T-36
Ammo: Eley Target
Rest: Caldwell Rock Front
Wind: 0-2mph NE

Nice shooting. Hope to get out there in the next couple weeks.
Narrowing down the goals for us!!

This is my 1st entry in the monthly so be gentile.

Shot today at RCWA @11am
Slight wind, 55deg
CZ455 American (no mods)
Bushnell 3-9, on 6 power
Ammo was Remington Thunderbolts
Front rest was a gallon windshield washer bottle (improvised)
Rear rest was my left hand
Forgot to take a pic of the setup...

I wasn't sure if the top two small boxes were targets... Rules said 6 targets and you could only hit the red ones. 6 red targets?

That’s awesome man. Nice shooting. One of the posts mentions that the 4 targets in the middle are the only ones that count, but that was impressive. Low power and stock rifle on a make shift rest... letting the shooter shine.

Now if I can get those effing squirrels in the back yard! Paper doesn't move.

Nice shoot'n!!! The boxes up top don't count. But still very nice. I like your front rest. I normally use my left arm for rear rest also. Trying to get use to bunny ears, but just does not feel right to me.

Thanks. I find I can fine tune windage and evevation by moving my left hand. Then all the right has to do is the trigger.

Every once and a while I get the WTF happened shot. I think it's because I'm thinking about it, not sure...

I get a lot of those WTF shots. The other day I was shooting really well then all of a sudden I had two shots that were just way off and I knew they were not a fliers. Turns out that the front rest had loosened up. But until I figured that out I was scratching my head.

Top boxes are the scoring legend. :D

Or I guess you could also use them as warm-up targets!!

Shot the target again today. I wanted one where nothing was touching the ribbons! The sighter target is 5 shots.
Setup was the same as above. Wind was 5mph NE. Wish my USBR targets would of been this good today. Shot three of those. Have not scored them yet, but if any of them break 220 I will be very surprised.

Took the Tikka T1X out the other day. It is way more accurate than I am:eek: I was shooting seated off of a front rifle rest and using a rear bag. Shooting CCI AR Tactical 40 gr (same stuff as above). I had a Mueller 8x32 scope mounted.
