What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

F*ck Brownells. Took those idiots a full 8 business days of shipping time to send me a trigger and a magazine. Good luck. If by free shipping they mean 8 days travel time......then they can keep it.
I've been doing business with them for 30 years and have always been pleased with them. The added tax does tick me off, and I'll still price shop them.

Not 30 but 10 years here. The added tax thing is going to affect all online retailers soon. My beef was when they use UPS Mail Innovations and it takes 8 business days actual shipping time. That includes a call on the 5th day when no further tracking info was available and the CSR wasn't willing to call UPS. There exists many superior options than President Pete's house of gun parts nowadays. Their customer service rivals PSA...without an online forum option

I also like the labels on the boxes are in mice type, it reduces the "What did you spend?" questions.

I recently picked up some 22LR ammo that would not cycle my guns reliably. I was wondering what to do with the ammo, and someone suggested buying a 22 revolver, so I did. I picked up a Heritage combo 22LR/22mag 9 shot model. I did not know they made a 9 shot version.

Doing a search, though, I also found out that Ruger makes a 22LR GP100 that holds 10 rounds.

I have an old Single-Six that I use to shoot my cheap .22. I always enjoy plinking with the Single-Six. :D

One hour ago in a gun store in Mullins S.C. made a deal with the owner for a OTD price on a 1st gen G17. Filled out the paper work with the minion all done, gun in the box ready to pay....the minion says He will have to add 3% for use of a cc. I told him to ask the owner as we had an OTD price agreement. He said it was standard procedure. I took a man in with me who spent $600+ in the store and used a cc without the 3% added. I asked for my paperwork and tore it in half and told him he could explain it to his boss. What a dumb bastard to have working for you.
As we went out the door We heard him say faintly in the back ground, wait, wait......

Amazing how bad hiring and supervision practices can impact performance. Imagine when the owner discovers the sale wasn’t actually consummated. “Hey, why is that G17 still in the case?”

I once had a job calling on retail stores. I vividly remember visiting a small one where the only employee was sound asleep, head down, on his desk. I walked right past the guy, front to back, back to the front and out the door without ever waking him. I always chuckle when I think back about the guy’s daily report to his boss...

“Didn’t see a single customer today”. :D

A few months back I acquired a Thunderbeast .556 Takedown from an ad on CFF. It was recently sent back to TBAC who pinned and welded it to one of their dedicated suppressor uppers. It’s now back with Shawn at Carolina Smoke and Guns pending transfer approval.

Can’t wait to bring it home!

Pack of paper targets...maybe a dozen?

Had a $10 off $50 coupon for Academy. Of course the item I needed to buy for a Christmas gift was $49.99. Started looking at the 50rd boxes of 22LR, then decided to spend a couple bucks on targets instead.

I bought Mrs. a Heritage Rough Rider .22LR/WMR combo six shot. She will not go to the range without it. She wants to OC in the leather holster I bought her. She carries pictures of it and shows her friends, lol! I had to call and request the WMR cylinder, they warned me because the holidays it may take awhile. Took less than a week. I paid $119 a couple of years ago at Academy. Cabelas had them for $99, I didn't feel like driving down there to save $20. Lots of bang for the buck!

I see them all the time for less than $150. Rugers are way more than that, and unless someone is a serious SA rimfire revolver nut, the Rough Rider's the way to go IMHO. I'm considering a big bore model in the future. Gotta research them a bit first though.

I too have used it to shoot crappy/somewhat damaged .22LR that wouldn't cycle in the SR22 and some that I didn't even attempt to load.

ENJOY!

That's strike two for that place.

Craig Spegel called me today about some Hi Power Grips since I am on his call list. Picked up pair of smooth french walnut with a similar pattern as the 1911 grips on the left. I am going to put them on this BHP which is currently wearing a pair of his Cocobolo grips that will be re purposed to another BHP.

Then pay for the shipping upgrade? If you have ordered from them for 10 years you know that they currently send all "free" shipping via UPS Mail Innovations because it is the cheapest way to send it. They also most likely would not call UPS for you because once the package leaves the UPS system into the hand of the USPS there is no live tracking. I guess I don't understand why you thought it would show up faster? Luckily as you pointed out if you are unhappy you can walk your gun $$$ to lot of other retailers on and offline. Things are changing rapidly in the retail world if things don't change soon we will be left with two choices. Walmart for brick and mortar and Amazon for online. o_O

Have you tried tracking on USPS.com with the tracking number, I get email updates for my packages that are shipped to me using USPS
as the last leg from both fedex and ups.

Yup but it is not live tracking like UPS or FedEx. It cannot tell you where it is only when it came into and when it left a facility. Better than it used to be but if you called them they could not tell you “where” your package is.

The last 4 S&W M&P 22 mags (12rd) that 44mag had in stock. $8.95/ea due to their going out of business sale. Normally ~$25.

They still have 100+ of the 10rd (for the 22, not 22C) for $7.95/ea if anybody is interested.

I added a 21rd Magpul GL9 mag so I'd get free shipping. Will try it out in the Maxim 9 once it's released from jail.

Nice of you to differentiate. I didn't lose any money, but it sure was a let down.

I agree with you, same for my fedex package 784227885553, it is on the truck, same for usps it is on the last leg of the delivery.
Had three magazines in my mailbox Saturday afternoon, got the text update about two min after the truck left the block.

I haven't given Fuquay G&G any money in a long while so I grabbed a few things yesterday.

500 rds 9mm to break in my new CZ
Box of Hornady Custom 123G SST 6.5Grendel
Streamlight rechargeable for my new pack
CZ mags
Spyderco Sharpmaker

View attachment 90661

I bought my Sharpmaker back in 1987-1988 and it is still the best sharpener I have used, as long as you keep the "stones" clean it will last forever.

In addition to a 10.5" .357 Maximum Ruger SBH & a Mossberg Shockwave 'Night Stick', I snagged 500pcs of Starline .357Max brass, 2000 CCI 400s, 2lbs each of AA1680, IMR4227 & Win WSF, 1000pcs plated 9mm 124gr hollow points & 200pcs gas checked .357 200gr LWFNs.

Yep for 5 days the USPS showed “awaiting package from UPS” until the day of delivery

I had similar problem with my suppressor that was sent Priority Mail from Charlotte,
must have fell off the cart and showed the same status, five days no activity.
I got an update it was on a truck to Raleigh the day before it was delivered.
Sometimes packages get lost or another placed on top of it.

Its because someone missed a scan. USPS did not properly scan the package when it entered their system. This is not a Brownells issue. It happens all the time with the USPS. It sucks but then again the shipping was free so really no harm no foul unless you needed the item on a particular day. IMHO
