Anybody here have one? I think they came out around July of 2017. Out of stock now, but supposedly coming back in 1Q or 2Q.

Looks like either 8.3" or 16".

Thinking the 8.3" version with my pending Octane 45K could be a really fun range toy. (Other thing I was looking at was the MechTech CCU)

I bet the 16 doesn't offer any better performance. I keep watching for these but they are never in stock.

Uggh...why can't they set their notification system up to not send this crap out for something not in stock!!

Received an email with the subject "We think this could be just what you need."

...and of course it's still OOS when I click Buy Now.

This shit is so annoying to me!

I think QC10 offers a .45 platform as well. And you can always build one from the Bazooka Brothers lower that uses Uzi or grease gun mags.

Just figured out how to save $200. I was planning on SBRing this one if I bought it. I always do dedicated SBRs instead of swapping uppers.

Well, I have an SBR now that I'm about to make a pistol once the Form 1 can is done. Now I can just swap the two uppers and not have to register another...which is nice even if they're being approved in under 2 weeks.

Nevermind...completely forgot about the lower being designed around Glock 21 mags. Guess I'll be filing a Form 1 if I don't want to leave it as a pistol.

Bought four 27rd mags for this today. Maybe one day in the next 6 months I’ll own the firearm.

...and the silencer is Pending as of 11/5/18.

I hate you for your can to already be pending. That was your free one from SiCo right?

Yep. Part of the fiasco involving the wrong cans being sent to THSF, and then when he called to straighten it out they said I wasn’t in the system at all for a free one.

At least you got the damn thing! I've got to call Carolina Gunrunners tomorrow and see if they've heard or seen anything.

I ended up with two out if the mix up from Scott. I'm still waiting on my free warlock.

Sneak peek...if they’ll ever make the AR-45 again. :(

Reading up more on your journey! Wow it’s been awhile in the making. My LGS Triangle Gun Vault was my first stop and I was told they were no longer making 45 acp lowers etc.
Mine is cobbled together so far and just really out of sh@ts and giggles. I’ll start a thread and share my results at some point this weekend. Thanks and at some point I’m probably pm you on how to get a can started etc.

Quick update. I’ve ditched the PSA idea. They missed the late summer estimate and moved it to 2020. I bumped the thread on ARF to see if they had an updated estimate...and they deleted the whole thread.

Ended up ordering a QC10 lower. One advantage of that route will be LRBHO, which I believe the PSA offering didn’t have. In addition to the pic a couple posts up, I have ordered

1. QC10 lower that takes .45 Glock mags
2. 10.5” upper from JSE, including CH & BCG cut for Glock mags (barrel and rail are both 10.5”)
3. 8.2oz buffer
4. PSA SBA3 EPT MOE LBK (enough acronyms?)

I also ordered a 12” rail, but I think I’m either going to return it or sell it. I didn’t think the rail on the JSE upper was going to have a large enough ID to tuck my Octane, so I ordered the 12” which was advertised as 1.81”. Then I found out the JSE has a 1.57”, which will look a lot better with the 1.375” silencer. I’m going to have the barrel cut down so that the Octane 45K sticks out just enough to grab it. If the rail will slide over the silencer, I may even cut it so it’s closer to flush...so I’ll install the rail after I’ve tightened down the can.

Rail came today. LBK is due here Monday. Got a shipping notice from JSE for upper and buffer today, but haven’t seen any movement. Haven’t heard anything from Quarter Circle on the lower.

I’ll get it all assembled and test fire it before I send the barrel off to get cut down. It’s threaded .578x28, but it’ll be 5/8-24 when it’s done.
Who will you have cut it? Adco?

@BigWaylon
Idk how to tag but hopefully that works??
Turns out I have a 7oz buffer in my 9mm pistol.
I’ll let you know how that turns out.
Everything seems good to go at this point.

Sounds good. I didn’t take mine out to weigh them, but based on advertised weights I think I have one (Hahn) that’s 7oz and one (PSA) that’s 8oz....for my two 9mm.

I have an 8.2oz (Guntec brand from JSE) in route for the .45 I’m starting.

(and the tag worked fine)

So I took my PSA buffer out of my 9mm buffer and it’s not marked. The other one is marked 7oz. I bought both lowers complete. Is your PSA marked 8oz?

My Hahn was advertised as 7oz and I just weighed it to be 6.9oz. It’s marked with Hahn Precision and sub caliber (or something similar), but no weight.

My PSA was advertised as 8oz and I just weighed it to be 8.0oz. It has no markings at all. It’s silver with a clear/white tip and also has flutes on the buffer. Looks like this pic from their site:

image.jpg That’s why I was asking. Bought this from PSA complete lower. Moe EPT. I don’t have a scale but that doesn’t look like the proper buffer. First time I shot it it sheared the buffer retainer pin. Makes sense now.

Damn sure does. I don’t think I’ve shot it since. Gonna weigh it and see. Sometimes I build/move on to the next project too quick. I keep telling myself to slow down and focus more on quality :(
The other thing to do is check the length of it. My 8oz buffer is right at 4”...measured it at 4.02. But you can get away with just a ruler and the 4” mark. If yours is shorter, stack quarters in the buffer tube until the buffer + coins is 4”.

This eliminates over travel allowing the buffer to move faster than needed. It should tame it down some. I don’t think the Spartan lower has LRBHO, so you’ll have to figure out the number of coins based on the length. The way to do it with LRBHO is to keep adding quarters until it won’t lock back (because it’s not moving far enough).

You might be able to get away with the current buffer using the quarters method. If not, the one I bought from JSE was a bargain at $22. And it doesn’t have weights that slide around inside...it seems solid.

Im running a FM lower and it works great with a spartan bolt and 8 oz buffer and regular carbine spring. My other two .45's are Guard bolt uppers and they are really nice to shoot.

Damn that thing is sweet!
Any issues with the SGM mags?
Currently all I have is OEM mags for my G21.

I havent had any issues with the mags but 45 ammo is a little finicky in all my 45's. Too flat of an ogive and it will run into the feed ramp on all of them. Magtech works great. Some others not so much.

If I was going to do an AR45 I think it'd be a CMMG banshee. I just don't have anything else in .45 so I can't see me getting into a new caliber anytime soon.

Having said that, excited to see yours come together Greg!

Picked the lower up today. Probably throw the couple parts it needs in it Monday. It already comes with bolt catch installed so LRBHO works, mag release installed, integral trigger guard, and the selector spring/detent hole is threaded.

Upper is already here. Piston for once I shorten it was delivered today (it’s currently .578-28, rethreading to 5/8-24 when it gets cut down).

Should have a pic in a couple days of it fully assembled with the 10.5” upper. Then range trip next weekend, and if it goes well I’ll send the upper off for the barrel work.

Red (high temp) anodized spray paint is due here today as well. I’ll spray the barrel once it comes back from ECCO.

Quick look with upper installed. I did swap to the red CH, but haven’t installed red dot, sights, or forearm grip.

Awkward angle with Octane 45K threaded on to show red end cap.

And a closeup of the can in the rail. Will cut the 10.5” barrel down to 5”-6” and the 45K will stick out an inch or two. The rail can slide over the can when it’s attached, so no concern about being able to tighten/loosen it properly, or worrying about leaving any part on the barrel when removing it.

Oh yeah, the barrel will get sprayed with this once I have it cut and threaded.

First 15 rounds down range today without any issues.
