Hello to all. My name is Tommy Roupe. I have been around firearms most of my life. Thanks to my late Dad, he had me in the woods from a early age. Grew up in the hills of W.Va. Loved the outdoors and enjoyed the traditions. Grew up hunting and fishing in the hills. I started shooting a little competition in the late 70's. It was called PPC. I had no idea as to what I was doing, but I was safe and did not shoot myself or any other shooters. I did not know any better and my first match was with a Smith 29. The owner of the indoor range said that I shot very well, but I needed to consider a different pistol for PPC. It was not long that I had a Colt Python for PPC and it was truly fun.

When I relocated to N.C. I was fortunate to find the sport of USPSA. I went to my first match around 1989, maybe 1990. I shot safe, did not have any AD's and did not break the 180. Boy was I hooked. I have not looked back and if I could have all of the money back that I have spent in the USPSA with the ammo, custom guns, travel, match fee's and such, I could have paid for 2 homes. Many miles under my tail traveling up and down the east coast shooting matches. Being in the shooting sports world has given me the opportunity to meet some very good folks that I call friends, from World Champions, Elite Military Warriors, Industry leaders and just some great folks over the years.

I have shot in 3 gun matches and I am know enjoying PCC Carbines matches in USPSA. As I get older, the vision is going and the knee's and legs are not as fast as they used to be. Shooting has been good to me and it has given me a career in Law Enforcement which hopefully I will be able to retire from in a few years. I still shoot in matches when I can and also enjoy precision rifle. That stems from the days of growing up in the hills hunting groundhogs. Boy do I miss hunting groundhogs. I even met my lovely wife at a shooting range and she has put up with my shooting for the past 24 years. She had competed with me in the early days. I have two beautiful children that also enjoy shooting and the great outdoors. Looking forward to the site, hopefully find some interest with others and maybe even find a good deal sometime.

Glad to have ya with us new brutha !

Welcome from the beach. Seems like your Ive seen your name on another site, if memory serves it was attached to some sweet looking guns (maybe open class blasters). Im a graduate of ECU, haven't been back to Greenville in a long time, doubt I would recognize any of it now.

I have been around for a while. Sold a lot of pistols, rifles and such. I get bore very quickly with builds. I build most of my own 1911/2011's and all of my AR's. I gave up on 3 Gun, it was a blast, but the cost was getting to high for me. $3k for a pistol, $1500 for a shotgun and another $3K for the rifle and optics and then I had to feed it all. It was fun for sure and I competed ok. I don't even shoot much USPSA Pistol anymore, switch over to PCC. That is a lot of fun, wide open.

Welcome aboard @troupe
We have a decent sized competitor group on here. I like listening to early stories of USPSA and such.
How did you hear about us?

I believe I found the site by accident. My computer skills are worse then bad. Glad I found the site. I have been very lucky over the years in USPSA. I have met a lot of good folks for sure. I could tell some stories from the old days. It has been a fun ride, but I can say that I have noticed a change in the shooters.

Awesome of you to join up with us here sir.

Welcome to CFF!!
