I haven't bought a new rifle in quite some time and I was getting a little bit of the jidders. Sorta' like a wino without the daily grape. I was checking out an email ad today from Brownells and for some strange reason ended up looking at the Howa barreled actions and low and behold they had a heavy barreled (26") Howa on sale in 6mm Creedmoor. Wohoo! They even had a $50 discount promotion for any purchase over $100. Oh Boy! Well dang! Couldn't let that one pass me by. Hell no! Had to do it! So, now I have a 6 Creed in the works. Ordered a EGA 20 MOA rail and now contemplating bullets, brass, powders, primers, dies, glass...geez, what have I done...AGAIN!

Anyone out there own one and have some tips on powders and such?

Damn , just Damn!

What kind of stock are you thinking of?

Looks like you’ve got a new friend (avatar). If I remember you’re old one had cancer but was living high on the hog.

I've got an empty Bell and Carlson Tactical Medalist that it will drop right into. Ordered bottom metal with a 10 round mag and a 20 moa rail, 100 rounds of Hornady ammo (mainly for break-in and the brass), and some 107 grain Sierra bullets that were on "sale", Ha! I found a 12x SWFA scope with rings laying on a closet shelf that will suffice for now. That leaves dies and few other sundry reloading things and I should be good to go ..."perhaps insane".

Molly passed away a few months back from cancer and we now have another full blown Chessie pup. When the breeder asked what was I looking for in a pup, such as color, sex, size, I replied "personality". Yes sir! I want a pup with the most "personality. Well, we got it. What I failed to realize is that even Jeffery Dahmer and Adolph Hitler had friggin personalities!

Molly in her better days and Mr. Guinness Stout. "Stout" for short. My wife and I were drinking Guinness while pondering names. Go figure.

Good luck with the new gun and daisies new playmate.

Not the best pic but I threw this rig together yesterday and "broke-in" the barrel with a box of Hornady Black 105 grain HPBT. We sighted it in at 200 yards and messing around with some quick and dirty calculations we were banging 12 inch steel at 600 yards without much fanfare. I kinda like it. I'll upgrade the optics sometime this summer and the link below looks like a nice option as well. It came with a heavy 26" threaded barrel and a two stage trigger. For under $500 (had a $50 coupon too) not a bad deal if you have an empty stock laying around.

Let me know if you end up swapping the B&C out for the Oryx. I would be interested in purchasing it if you want to sell. Nice rifle btw.
