Anyone in here by chance do any skateboarding in general? If so would you happen to be near the Fayetteville.

70's downhill, managed a surf / skate shop in the 80's. I would be a totally retard to get on one now. I do however like that the chicks are getting into downhill on the longer boards.

45 years ago. Now I just snow ski, shoot, ride bikes and motorcycles and play with grandkids! Old bones don't mix well with skateboards. How old are you?

Hehe I hear u, im 34. I dont know about the old bones thing though Rodney Mullen is 52 and still at it lol.

Something I thought that looked really cool and fun, got a board when I was like 18, half messed around on it. Then just quit. Now 16 years later, im really into it. Its fun setting up boards, trying out different wheels and whatnot. And now that I work at a school, I take advantage of it when I get the chance.

Thats cool. Yea I see quite a few girls on the skateboard channels I watch on youtube really getting into it.

I rode a skateboard from about 10 to 16. Then girls, work and partying took over. kinda sad because by the time I stopped I wasn't bad, hittin handrails and what not. I grew up in Phoenix so way more spots to skate than a lot of places I've seen around here. Used to hop on the bus in the morning on Saturdays and go downtown, there was usually about 6 or 7 of us and just ride all day. Oh good times in the mid to late 90s!

I wish I had a couple of my old boards ... an original Bahne and Logan Eath Ski. I could guess how my hours and bruises I did on boards but by the time I was on those boards I did way better.

There’s a skate park right across from my office. Maybe I should pick it back up after a ~30 year hiatus. :D

skated in the late 80s. still have a 5 boards.. but I know it would be wise to dial 911 before I get on another.

I was born in 84. I remember my cousin that lives in South Carolina would come stay with us for a while. He was into skating alot. This was around the mid 90s now. We had this really big flat cement pad about ~50x50 yards, in the yard that were there when we moved there when I was little. I would mess around on his board but I just wasnt into it like that at that time either when I was around 10.

Did so from 14-19
then I bought another board a few years back

One day I will have these. They come up for auction on occasion and some are new. There are some counterfits out there so you have to be careful. A clean set is running over a THOUSAND BUCKS.

I can barely ride a bike so when I'm feeling adventurous that's what I hop on.

I grew up skating. Skated occasionally well into my early 40’s. Gave board to my buddies daughter before I moved to NC. It was a Think Toland model. Haven’t skated since. Although I’m still a fan and watch it on tv if there’s pros on.

My neighbor down the street is older than me (I’m 50) and he still skates his longboard all the time!

Well, I’m afraid I wasn’t that impressive, lol.
I could drop in get respectable air on large ramps (large used to be 9-10’). Do long grinds, etc. Basic stuff.
We mostly did street style. Could Ollie over park benches, grinds, kick flips and variants. Launch ramps etc.
Enough to have fun and skate with some dignity.
But I was always a hack, as where I come from it’s a big talent pool and there’s tons of really good skaters.

I can ollie over small things so far, my goal going into this was to just at least learn the basics/small tricks enough to have fun like u said, I really want to get good at kickflips though they look so cool....and eventually a tre/360 at some point. Ill be good then.

Cool, have fun. Wear elbow and wrist guards if nobody is watching, lol.

My Jamie Thomas deck just collects dust these days.
I do have some Jason Lee signature decks that I'll hang up in the man-cave one day.

My neighbor "skis" on a long board every day behind his Husky. They come flying down his driveway and take off down the street.

Oh that looks likes some fun there. What brand deck did u ride?

The only equipment info I recall was Tracker trucks...the urethane wheels were orange-ish red . The only deck I can recall is a thin yellow laminate being my favorite.

I had an elbow shaped concrete ditch at the edge of my apartment complex when I was at college that I really enjoyed. It was low drama compared to some of the huge drainage ditches in Albuquerque, but it was fun to put on some shorts and a t-shirt and skate for 20 min or so after school. There are literally hundreds of miles of concrete ditches in Albuquerque. A lot of 'em I stayed out of.

I would still ride a bit, but since my last argument with gravity I realize the costs involved in another break...someday I will put the new bushings in the trucks and cruise around the hood... GRANDPADUDE skates again.... coming to an emergency room near you....lol
