In the what's for lunch thread, I mentioned grilling chicken mcnuggets. It was just a thought to warm up some leftover nuggets and have them be edible. I considered it successful, especially over just popping them in the microwave. In fact, I liked them better than fresh from McDonald's.

Well, in keeping with the theme (and under the influence of lots of alcohol) some leftover Krispy Kreme doughnuts found their way to the smoker. The coals were cooling off after cooking some ribeyes, so a couple pieces of pecan wood was tossed in. Once it got good and smoky in there, the doughnuts were put on.

They stayed for about 5 minutes each side. Let me just say, if you care anything for a KK doughnut, this process took them to a whole nother level! They had a tougher exterior, similar to a bagel (which I like) but the inside was still soft. Also, the glaze formed a shell from caramelizing. The bonus was the light smoke flavor.

Please excuse the sorry cell phone pic, but it was the best I could do, under the circumstances.

Not as weird as KKs, I know.

Try watermelon marinated in Italian dressing grilled.
I heard it was very good but have tried yet.

Grilled pineapple is the bomb.

Smoked shrimp. Trust me. OMFG good. My uncle has a big competition/commercial smoker & did the cooking for our family reunion a couple years ago. He marinated the (large-ish) uncooked shrimp in Italian dressing for 45 min or so & smoked 'em for about 15-20 minutes. They were incredible.

My fish tacos needed a visual kick, I grilled the avocado slices.

Cocker spaniel, took alot of smoke though.

Is that bacon wrapped gator....dang! You could wrap a cat in that and it would be tasty....not that I would know.

Well not really non typical for most of the world, but something I had never done before. Friend of mine has gotten into raising goats and I have been helping him butcher them and he has been giving me some meat. First did a shoulder and ham about a year ago. Found out I REALLY like goat. This was a rack of ribs I smoked last weekend along with some brats. Just butchered 2 more Sunday so I have a fresh meat supply.

Did a pumpkin cheesecake on the kamado joe that was awesome. Had an oreo crust. The subtle smoke flavor was awesome.

This is the first one that I did, which the crust ended up burning a bit. The next time I put the pan on top of a pizza stone. You could also put it on a cookie sheet filled with water to keep the crust from burning.

Lightly smoked some diver scallops on the grill tonight with my wood chips box while searing them. Came out amazing...

CrazyCarl has a shirt that says “I love cats, I just can’t eat a whole one by myself”

I smoked potatoes once and really liked them. Gave them a little bit of a shell that wasn't too tough but still there. It would be very easy to over smoke them as they take flavor quickly.

They weren't smoked, but fried Krispy Kreme on the firebowl ain't bad either. But neither were the backyard eggs, or the grilled liver puddin, or the bacon, or the sausages, or the cowboy coffee.

Goat make a good SHTF/TEOTWAWKI critter too, as they can survive on practically nothing. Huge staple of many African diets. They're funny critters & too smart by half, but very tasty.

I did some Mac&cheese today. It smelled awesome!
