A buddy sent me a link to a rifle that he thought I might be interested in. It was on Armslist in J'ville. The guy had it listed as a 1976 AK. After looking at it I realized he had a milled Mak90 that someone had done some customiz to the furniture. I knew I wouldn't be the first in line. I emailed only a few minutes after posting. He told me that I was 4th in line. He was talking to 3 others to determine who could meet first. So here's what I did. I told him what he had and that since he was asking 6 OBO that my offer was 8. He decided to sell me the rifle. Moral of the story is OBO is just that. It works both ways. In the end I gave him 850 to bring it to me in Raleigh since he was off duty that day.

8 is what the rifle is worth like it is. It's been parkerized. If not for that and the customization of the furniture is would be 11-12

I offered what it was worth to me:cool:

And if you're happy with the gun and it's what you wanted it's a good deal. Doesn't mater what someone else wanted to pay.

Mike Wolfe on American Pickers one said that if you see something you want the time to buy it is now. Because if you wait and it's sold to someone else you'll probably regret it.

Be sure to invite him to CFF

Agree, you did a good deal.

Apply above to ALL purchases in life. You worked for that money do anything you want to with it. Enjoy your rifle, I would...

What would I have done? Looked in my wallet and sighed lol

Nice AK mate.

The better question is would he have been banned from this website for accepting a higher offer after all ready having an agreement? Or would we say that someone did the "right thing". Just a thought glad you got the gun.

Yes and it would’ve been @Majicmike’s fault :D

I did ask if he had a deal pending. He said No because the closet guy to him wouldn't have the money until the weekend. That's when I told him my offer.

You’re one clever negotiator.

Note to self:
Kept @Majicmike in mind when selling something. :D
