Armed suspect dies after being shot by CMPD officer in north Charlotte

A good shoot? No. Legally justified? Probably.

I doubt you can reasonably prove that she intended to kill him, based on her verbal commands which indicated a desire to de-escalate. Those were terrible commands btw!!! It seems like her brain shortcircuited under pressure and while he appears to have finally decided to follow their commands, she saw him grabbing the gun and thought “oh crap, he’s going for the gun! I have to shoot.”

I sense more training for CMPD in what commands can be given. Scripted commands only.

I’ve seen the term “baby momma” several times in this thread. Can anyone explain to me when a momma is not a baby momma?

It’s not talking about being a mom in general

It’s talking about a woman who is the mother of the progeny of said individual

My wife is my baby momma. Your wife may be a momma but she’s not my baby momma

See?

A momma and daddy are a family unit.
A baby momma is someone you had a kid with but not married or together as a couple. Also simply called an ex if you get along, but theres an implied degree of animosity in the term baby momma.

Play it at .25 speed, he has gun in right hand, holding it by muzzle, no fingers in trigger area,
he slowly lowers it about a foot or so, then is shot by officer.

That Burger King woman was stupid, walks directly into line of fire from two officers before getting out of the way.

The BK employee walking behind the car door looks like she's seen a gunfight or two! Those two cops aiming her way didn't phase her at all.

surprised no mag dump @ 2:05 in slo mo he is collapsing, left hand heading towards gun...
Plenty of opportunity for him to 'submit' in a manner that did not get him shot.

like so many others, their momma named em some weird ass name... Danquirs ?

I’m going to say this looks like a bad shoot to me, as it was said earlier the guy with the weapon appeared to finally comply with dropping the gun when he was shot, of course if I had two cops pointing guns at me I probably would have used a few words to the effect of “I’m going to get the gun and slowly place it on the ground , PLEASE DONT SHOOT ME”, he didn’t do so and lost his life over being an idiot.

In all honesty how does one “drop the gun” without touching it to put it down? One correct answer is not not be out in public waving a firearm around like a moron in the first place, but from the video I saw it appeared the guy was attempting to place the gun on the ground when he was shot.

Does anyone know what caliber that department carries?

No no. I had a cousin once who was a nurse at the clinic and one girl wanted to name her kid Syphillis. She had been browsing the magazines in the waiting room while waiting for her checkup and saw the word and liked it until my cousin told her what it was.

She should have named her SaPhyllis.

I hope you gave your cousin a stern talking to and told her to go ahead and let that happen next time lmao

I know of a kit who was named James but it’s pronounced Juh-mez. The mom had no clue what to name him, the Dr’s name was James, so she said “how can I change that around a little?”, and we have Juh-mez spelled James. Good luck to that kid!

See?

My neighbor used to be a deputy. Before they got new squad cars, they had small stickers on the back glass. They had, in large letters "BDR." Below, in small text, it said "baby daddy removal."

Nah, your hair will get you a free pass, unless you've converted to a high and tight lately.

I guess I do have a bit of the "Naymond from The Wire" look.

I know where there is a kid named Shi Thead.

Not necessarily in a straight line. ;)

Had a coworker who claims to have has a classmate with that as a name. The first home room day was entertaining, when the teacher called out sh1t head?

This stuff ain't nothing new. My mom worked at unemployment office before I was born and I am 63. She used to tell the story of a client they had whose name was Bloomer Blossom.

Oh it was a guy.

Went to a college with a guy named Rusty Anus, no idea how it was spelled but that’s how we all pronounced it, and we always used his full name.

My son arrested a girl whose real name was La-A. Guess how that one is pronounced.
That one has floated around awhile. LaDashA.

I haven’t checked the news...but coming north on 85 about 30 minutes ago there were at least a half dozen cop cars up on the bridge at Beatties Ford with lights going. Would’ve been a prime location for some kind of protest/march. Not sure if that’s what it was or not.
