Apparently several firearm related channels got completely demonitized yesterday. The Daily Shooter along with some smaller channels like Jarhead6, Fit'n Fire, Kotaboy32 Tactical.

It is just a matter of time until any and all firearm related channels are demonitized or outright banned/deleted.

smh

Ain’t it great that they will demonetize these channels as some sort of virtue signaling, all the while they will continue to make ad revenue off these channels?

@Bailey Boat

Sad part is the big platforms, YouTube, Facebook, etc., are the ones that most people use (younger folks in general). Say gun channels did go to another platform the gun enthusiasts that want to watch follow. These gun channels will be preaching to the choir and not reaching possible new gun guys/gals. The problem is no new folks that may be sitting on the fence won’t get the chance to see the videos unless they search them out. If the gun channels are booted from the main platforms, guns will slowly become a smaller and smaller part of society. In my opinion this is the goal of the government and the main stream media.

This is also happening to conservative channels like Paul Joseph Watson and the like.

By demonetizing, they stop running ads on the channel. Their argument is that advertisers don’t want their brand/company/products associated with firearms.

Next, they’re going to say advertisers don’t want to be associated with conservatives and they will assign a political leanings to all channels, though this won’t be made public.

Ah. I thought they just stopped paying the channel owners. I imagine the site traffic from demonetized channels still benefits the site as a whole, though?

They did start a gun channel website called Full30 or something like that. It was good, but dying due to people still going to YouTube to watch the videos there. Just like there was a good Twitter alternative that can’t gain traction just because Twitter is entrenched.

Yeah from what I understand some were using full30 to store their videos incase YouTube was to delete their channel along with all their content.

The alternate platforms are a good idea but they just can’t reach near the number of people as the mainstream sites.

Another site is patreon. A lot of channels have gone there and post even more content than on YouTube. That site is set up so you can pay like a dollar or so a month for each “channel”. I’m pretty sure creators post the normal YouTube videos and also extra content to make it worth the couple bucks. I haven’t personally figured out how to get it going on my fire stick to watch on my tv but would gladly pay a few dollars to a few of my favorite youtubers to help offset the cost of ammo and other stuff they need to keep going. Nutnfancy is one of my favorites, he reviews guns, knives, camping gear, and the list goes on. We’ve watch him for years and it sucks he’s not making money from YouTube anymore.

We’ve not had cable tv for a long long time and have been living off gun videos for our tv entertainment. If anyone knows how to get patreon on the fire stick please shoot me a pm.

If you are talking about Gab, it is still working its way up. Their new Dissenter extension/plug-in is great and they are working on their own browser, a fork off of Brave.

I still think there are too many folks trying to come up with too many alternatives to youtube/facebook/twitter/etc. They need to pool their resources and get some solid alternatives done. Then get as much non-firearm content as they can to get the "normies" on there too! ;)

Unfortunately Patreon isn't much better. They have dropped or deleted people too for ridiculous reasons.

Patreon has dropped a lot of people that have wrong think.

I was actually thinking of Parler. It had a lot of the same set up as Twitter.

Get on Gab then and check out their Dissenter. Just put the dumbasses on ignore and it is an overall pleasant experience. ;)

Looks like they also demonitized Sargon of Akkad, coincidentally as he is running for office in the UK. I don't agree with everything he says or believes, but overall I like a lot of what he talks about.

He is a classic liberal. That’s why.

Rob Ski of AK Operators Union, Mike of Mrgunsngear, and other firearm channels also post frequently on Vimeo.
