Got up early to prep the grill, slapped on the 22 pounds of meat at 0'dark thirty... missed @Chdamn bbq and brisket this year so needed to get my fix.

Should be plenty for a couple days anyway.

We either need a bigger grill, a second grill (my preference), or the wife to understand portion sizes when she buys something.

Sun's up figured I'd check on it and put the probes in.

Anybody else?

First rule of the Egg Club....

Do not let your wife buy the meat.

Come on man, step it up.

Had 2 of my guys out at work this week, I have had ZERO time for anything.

But... you are of course correct

My wife made short ribs with potatoes, carrots and onions the other night. When she took the pot out of the oven and removed the lid, I asked...

ā€œWho else is coming to dinner?ā€

Saturday is WSM Smoke Day, an annual online cooking day for people with Weber Smokey Mountain smokers, so I'll have two pork butts going on the smoker tonight for an overnight cook. But they don't add up to 22 pounds.

Edit: the butts cooked from about 6:15 am to 10:15 PM, at which time I decided to take them off the smoker. Coincidentally that was the time it started raining, so I got wet but managed to save the butts. I hope they are worth it.

Having a houseful of "starving" teenage boys waiting for food, I completely forgot to get any pictures. It was tasty and there's barely any leftovers, so the wife dun good this time.

A four Rose's old fashioned, now that the house is more calm.

I put a 16 lb packer brisket on last night. Can't wait for dinner tonight.
