Can you tell me more about the 6/8 long range class?

Sure! If you have taken long range 101 with us it is the next step. We will be out on the 850yd range with steel at various distances. We will put into practice what we learned in 101, ranging with our reticles, finding our dope before taking that shot, filling out our calcforms at those greater distances to get those first round hits, then we are going to shoot off of various barricades and props working on positioning, using bags, weapon manipulation, etc.

Got it. I'll watch for your next 101 course.

I took Mike Sexton's precision course down at Clinton House back in December and learned a bunch. Even got a 1,760 yard hit! But, I like learning from different folks as you always pick up something new.

Awesome! If you have a precision rifle course under your belt and know those things, we do let you skip 101.

Hi Ryan!
The pistol marksmanship class on June 9th looks very interesting. I cant make this one and I didn't see any listed in the july-sept thread.
Do you plan to have any more in the future?

It's a class some students asked me to put on. To be honest- if we get high attendance, or if another group of students want me to put the class on, we will for sure offer it again.

Can you share some details on the Pistol Marksmanship Clinic?
Absolutely. We have many shooters who are very accurate. A box at 10 yards or what have you consistently. People tell me they are "accurate." To be, I define that is being able to hit what I want. I should be able to hit a 4 inch circle at 100 yards with a pistol, and a 12 inch plate at 150 yards with maybe a miss or two max. Within 7 yards, I should be able to hit a quarter, or a specific 1 inch dot I am looking at.

What this class is going to consist of is a lot of dots. 1 inch dots at 3 and 5 yard, then 2 inch at 7. 6 inch and 9 inch at distances like 25 yards. We will go slow and just work on fundamentals and right/wrongs while we fine tune everything. We will teach you guys how to actually diagnose each shot, what each shot means for you, and why you missed or hit. We won't always be beside you, so you need to know how to diagnose misses as well.

Lastly of course we will work on out of the holster accuracy, recoil control under multiple shot engagements, will try to fix anticipation, some reloads, and end with a bunch of cool drills for time and accuraracy consisting of A box only hits and steel at distance.

Some people say they are too beginner or dots are boring. If you can put 5 rounds in a 1 inch circle at 5 and 5 in a 2 inch circle at 7 and A box only at 25y, then yes I would say skip it. :)

Can you sign me up for:
6/2/19- Everyday Carry Handgun (3 spots)

6/8/19- Long Distance/Precision Rifle 102 (850 yard range) (we might have an open range this day as well) I don't think my current set up is going to work well for this. I may need a scope.
6/9/19- Pistol Marksmanship Clinic/Tune-Up Workshop

Did you mean to put this on the 15th?????
6/10/19- Defensive Rifle 2
6/16/19- Father's Day Class- father and son marksmanship clinic

6/29/19- Paladin Rifle Class
6/30/19- Core Combat Rifle Fundamentals

Yes I meant the 15th, that is my fault. I've got you down for everything!

Ryan put together my first AR15 today and it seems like PSA put together a great little package. The gun was nice and light and I thought a very soft shooter.

Please sign me up for..

Yea, i think you are right C. It is surprisingly accurate considering the actual barrel the bullet travels down is like an inch and a half. I think i may have caused the jam because of the death grip i put on that little gun. I think my left hand pushed on the slide too much. It was the first failure i have had in about 800'ish rounds out of it and i haven't cleaned it. It did not fail again in class. To shoot it fast and accurate you have to hold onto it pretty hard. She is a tiny little thing.

Hey Ryan.
Do you still have me signed up fore the rifle fundamentals class on the 30'th? Because I would like to come.
Also, will there be any handgun at all in this class?

No plans for tomorrow? Going to mow the yard and maybe go to the Farmers Market? How about instead you dust off that rifle (or just bring yourself and rent a rifle cheap) and mosey on down to Walnut Cove NC for Defensive Rifle 2 tomorrow. You will get to hang out with cool people and shoot guns! You may be very tired at the end of the day... No, you WILL be very tired at the end of the day, but it will be worth it. PM Ryan (Apex Defense Group) for details, he is probably just staring at his open gun safe and smiling, so he has plenty of time to answer questions.

p.s. If you are worried about over doing it you can always sit out a drill or two. I know i will!

Guys we need a few more for Paladin 1 that is this Saturday the 29th. It's a new class and will cover lots of techniques for defending your family and medical training. Ryan can explain it more if you have questions, but the idea is a protector and healer. To me its perfect for the Dad's and Moms out there who carry firearms. If you can come out please post here or contact Apex (Ryan). I feel a personal obligation to plug the class because it was created based on my suggestion. I think some people think it may be too advanced, but no matter your learning level you will come out with new skills and ideas and this is the first class in the new series. It's gonna be awesome.

I’m going to have to miss this one, going to visit my grandmother in the hospital... don’t think she will be here much longer... :(
