Furniture for a wasr?

Are you wanting a traditional stock or an AR type with an adapter?

The AR adapters are better if you plan on using an optic. Though, some of them make the irons nearly unusable.

I think the stock on that rifle is a Kvar NATO length. See how it fits you, but I prefer the Warsaw length myself.

For aluminum Mlok handguards, go ahead and set aside $100 as a base price unless you want the polymer Magpul. They can be had for around $30.

NATO stock is about 1.25 inches longer than a Warsaw length stock. You can also search for "Romanian AK stock set" or "surplus AK stock set" if you don't need Romanian wood, and find all sorts of options for closer to $50. Armslist and the AK Files and Arfcom marketplaces are also good places to look.

Yep, Nato is longer.

Where are you looking at stocks? The only wood sets that go for that much are Russian laminate.
Try leesmags.com
Plenty of actual Romanian stock options there.

Or this. It's not a high quality set, but it should get the job done. Use code discount code "welcomeback" .
Same site has Romy stocks for $20:

Bat $20 would look good if I stripped it down and re stained it dark walnut mmmmm

Now for a mount and optic. Idk if I want a red dot or prism scope.

If you want to take advantage of the side rail, RS Regulate mounts are very, very nice. Well built and low profile. They are also on the pricier side, but sometimes RS runs deals on blems (I've also bought a couple used models on eBay for fair prices). I've used just about every brand of optic mount under the sun on my AKs at some point - Midwest Industries, Zenitco, surplus Russian, UTG, no-name Chinese stuff, etc. - and in my opinion, nothing compares to RS Regulate. Alternatively, if you dig the low profile/scout setup, you can run a rear sight leaf mount (I currently have an Attero on my WASR) or a gas tube rail (such as the Ultimak), but while you're still new to AKs I'd suggest keeping it simple and going with a detachable side rail mount.

How is your vision? Red dots will get you easily out to 100+ yards, but if you want to stretch the x39 round a bit more, a decent 3ish-x optic will do you well without adding too much weight (not that us AK guys give too much a shit crap about weight ... that's more for those "modern sporting rifle" folks :p).

Clearly, AK parts are plentiful and setups are too each their own. If you're anything like most of us here, you'll end up with at least one overflowing parts bin full of extra stocks, grips, handguards, muzzle devices, rails, mounts, slings, and anything else you can swap out without a drill and press. It's a sickness, really...

I’ve got a box full of ar take off stuff. I’ve had a few ak’s but never hung on to many. Kept going back to Ar’s. Just not a 223 fan. The ak is a lot more versatile to me, maybe not as fast with run and gun stuff as an AR but it’s all what you practice with.

Heads up. The long Magpul handguard requires you cut off your handguard retainer. After doing that, you're extremely limited on what else you can use.
There are two varieties of the short one: one has a cut out for sling loop (that's the one you want) and one doesn't.
