Down around $0.15 per round, it's about half the cost of a .223/5.56 bolt gun now, and has once again peaked my interest.

I am hoping Ruger does a convertible version of the Wrangler, so I can pair it with a Henry H001TM.

I'm also considering the $200 Marlin XT-22 mag fed in WMR and putting the action in a decent stock.

I love the round and never stopped shooting it.

When it was 6 nickels a shot, I couldnt justify over a centerfire .223 except in leverguns and handguns. Now that its 1/3 of that....its again orbiting my want list

I didn't say I was shooting it a lot, just that I never stopped.

When the heck did 22 Mag get that low in price? Used to be stupid expensive

Judging by your name I would have thought you were paying a little more attention. :p

Not only that, rare. At least where I shopped. I had to buy it at Dick's a few times!

I'm not heavily invested in 22mag, so it wasn't that big of a deal to me. I only use it because I happened to buy Mrs. a Rough Rider that had the magnum cylinder as part of the deal. Similar scenario like Darkhorse. She did shoot it quite a bit when she could. I usually take it out for guests and when I take the Henry .22LR to the range. The magnums make it feel like you're shooting a firearm, not a BB gun!

Traded for this 22 magnum levergun recently...

i got excited reading this but when i look at my usual ammo sources online - doesnt look like the price has dropped much?

It's not on my "watch" list, but it does seem to be more readily available and the price seems to be lower.

There are some sales that make me want to stock up a bit just because. CCI Maxi-Mag can be had at 9mm prices and lower.

22 mag has always been a favorite of mine. I haven't shot much of it in the last few years just because shooting 223 was equally economical, but a drop in the price will get me back into it. May have to store a bit for when the price starts to climb again.

Shooting a 200 yard steel plate with an iron sighted 22 mag puts a grin on my face.

One day I need to some see this collection of Marlins. You regularly post items that I wish I had.
I have a few that I will sell on CFF soon... I'd rather sell rifles here than anywhere else. Stay tuned!

That’s what I Run most of it through. That or a single six. I really want one of the 1911s.

The Marlin XT is about the best bang for the buck at around $200 but that plaetic stock is a cheap POS. I'd probably drop the action into a laminate one which makes the price go up

You are correct.

I picked up a 783 years ago and while someone did a crappy job refinishing the stock the rifle is a tack driver.

My Dad's old Marlin 783 with a cheap Bushnell 4x scope is one accurate arm! I don't think he had put a complete box of .22 magnums through it in all the years he owned it. I was given it when he passed away. I do enjoy shooting it.

I would really like to pick one up, I am sure there is a reason (but I don't know it) why are they not making them in semi-auto. I know for a short while Remington 597's were out there, and a some 10-22's. Haven't seen any in a long time.

Someone just got a SMOKING deal on a stainless Marlin 882 from our BST. I am jelly because I thought about pulling the trigger on that one, but got a sweet Smith 586 this weekend so had to temper my wants lol

How did I miss this?
