Jeep Gladiator

I think it might be a good excuse to go to Battery Oaks for a visit to do some shooting and check out the gladaiator.

I love my pickup and love my broken down and apart CJ7 in the garage. A gladiator might be the perfect daily driver. I will still keep the CJ no matter what.

Passed a brand new new red Rubicon model on the road today. Totally got caught gawking by the owner!

I’m hooked. Need @BatteryOaksBilly to hurry up and get bored with his and offer it for a helluva deal!

Only thing I wish they’d offer for them is a matte OD green. It would be difficult to bring myself to deface a new factory paint job.

Waiting about 6 weeks now for it's arrival. They say it is in Quality Control. Perhaps in a week or two it will be here.

Post lots of photos! I love the Gladiators. They had a 3 in Johnson City at the Jeep dealership, they are mean looking machines.

tick tock tick tock waiting on Geezer. Until then I'll just keep looking at my 1998 TJ. :(

I was driving my 2001 Chevy S-10 4 door 4WD pickup, and a Gladiator ended up next to me on the highway. It sure looked like a nice ride, but functionally, it is identical to my truck. The only difference is about $50K. :D

But you can take the top and doors off the gladiator, fit 33's without a lift kit, fit 37's with a small lift and high clearance flares.
But I'll still wait a couple years for office to come down. The first year is "life style" pricing.

Saw an abomination today.
A fool with more money than sense or taste.
Brand new Gladiator Rubicon. The idiot replaced the 33" MT's with those ugly over-wide tires that are at last 4 inches smaller than the stock.
Also lowered.
Why the heck pay extra for a Rubicon edition that comes with a more expensive lifted suspension and bigger tires only top liter it and put stupid wheels and tires?
It is a free country. He is free to be an idiot.
Am I and free to judge non Jeep people doing stupid things to a Jeep.
Ha!

I was driving at the time.
As a former Heavily modified Wrangler owner, I hold to the belief that a jeep suspension should only be modified in a higher direction and tires should only go bigger than stock.
I've posted pictures and videos.
So, a Jeep abomination is something I would never lie about.

MAN I am behind the times!!! A 2 litre..120 ci Jeep???? I'd have to pass on that. And I love Jeeps.
Well, to be fair...

I think it was actually a 2.5L 4-banger that was offered along with the 4.0 I6.

25% bigger than expected. :D

Speaking of "Overland" here is a picture from 1970-1972 for you young Jeep guys. The ride is a 1961 Willys Overland. My dad was the guy in the front. I'm at the back and that's my oldest son in red at the back. That young kid in red will be 53 next month. o_O I was 27-29 at the time and will be 76 this October. My dad if still living would have been 100 last month.

Picture was taken somewhere in the vicinity of Avon or Buxton.

Just heard through the grapevine that a shipment of ~200 new Gladiators tried to come into the port of Miami and had some customs paperwork messed up. They were refused entry and were told to sail back for new paperwork. Chrysler opted to instead remove the bodies from the chassis (apparently some loophole that allows just chassis to come in as "not vehicles"), ship the chassis somewhere for re-fitting, and destroy the bodies.

I offered to buy one on the spot for $10k...they wouldn't budge.
