Cindy Perry, mayor of Pittsboro, has organized an anti gun rally at the Chatham County court house tomorrow evening...
Anybody heard about any counter protest to this upcoming gun protest? Anybody here planning to go?
I saw online that a few people are saying she purposefully chose to have the rally on Wednesday evening when most Republicans will be in church service or Bible study classes at their churches.
"Motivated by the atrocities of this past week and the lack of anybody doing anything....join us on the Old Courthouse Lawn on Wednesday evening August 14 from 6-8 pm for a peaceful vigil.
This is not just about thoughts and prayers, flags at half staff and fleeting remembrances of the 50+ mass shootings since Columbine in 1999.
This is about our town, our state, our nation. It is about safety and children growing up without fear of being shot at school, at the movie theater or on the playground.
Join us to Do Something! We will do it peacefully, profoundly and politically.
Call or email for additional ideas for this vigil/rally.
