Ummm...

You forgot the most important piece of info. What will you be taking home? :p

You don't actually have to wait. If your form was approved, the can is yours.

I've picked up several from my dealer and had the stamp mailed to me once it arrived.

This is my first suppressor and I didn’t know that! Thanks for the info!

You're very welcome.

I didn't know it either, until I posted on here about my approval. My dealer saw it and sent me a message saying I could come pick it up whenever. Said he would mail my stamp to me when it arrived.

I think I did the next three or four cans like that. :)

Out of curiosity, have you experienced that? I've only dealt with one dealer, so my exposure is severely limited.
Yes. Well, kinda. He wouldn’t ship me the can like Scott does for people that aren’t local.

He said he couldn’t legally do it if I wasn’t a dealer. I simply said there’s a big difference in couldn’t and wouldn’t...as I could prove to him he was allowed to do it.

Without the dealer calling and confirming themselves it was approved, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to have a dealer balk at it.

To be clear, Scott didn't ship mine. I drove to him.

On your last statement, I totally agree. I considered myself fortunate.

Yeah, I know you went to get it. I’ve done it before as well since he’s that close.

This was a shop is Asheboro, before I found THSF and they were in the Silencer Shop network (long before he Kiosk system existed. Just another dealer that doesn’t know the available processes in their own dang business.

5320.20 update (forms for 1/1/20-12/31/20)

Emailed 8/1/19
Approved 8/9/19
Received 8/16/19 (9/10 showed up)

ETA: 10th one showed up 8/19/19

Emailed a single PDF with 10 pages. Each one was a different state for 11 firearms. What makes it semi-interesting is I changed OALs on a half-dozen or so and also barrel length on one. So not many of them match their Form 1 specs anymore...and all approved with no notification given. I’ve changed lengths and calibers before, without notification, and never had an issue. I know I’ve seen reports of others being questioned and even having the examiners say they’d update the registry, but I’ve yet to run into that.

But, as usual...the ATF never disappoints. Send 10 in on a single file. Get 9 back, all in their own envelope with a pink cover sheet. Hopefully the 10th one arrives tomorrow so I don't have to call/email to ask what happened.

I don't have the exact dates, but just picked up my Silencerco Octane 9 last Thursday, which was almost exactly 10 months after mailing the check.

Dead Air Ghost M came in today. I sent the check to the atf for the DA 2 weeks after the Sico.

Any of my fellow 2018 Pending date crew getting a little tired of seeing this crap? Two month and three month approvals? I’m at 10, and it’s sitting there with an approved BGC completed. Finally got the lady answering the phone to say “no method to the madness” earlier this week.

ughhhh still sitting waiting for my 8/3 form four... was told a month ago that there was a signature problem and a correction letter sent...told 2 weeks ago that they got that back.

I've got a Form 4 for my SBS where check was cashed 10/30/18

Edit. I've got it as in it is still pending. I don't have approval.

My “free” Octane 45K from SiCo’s BOGO deal last summer was just approved.

F4 Trust
mailed 10/26/18
CC charged 11/1/18
Pending 11/5/18
Approved 9/19/19

Looks like (at NFA tracker) that new F4 submissions (individual) are WAY down in wait time.
Yep. It’s crazy for some reason.

I did ask about mine from May, but no luck. It’s transferring to a trust, but it already has an approved BGC (per the ATF a month or more ago), and there’s no trust to check over since I used the 24-month exemption and simply sent a letter that said it hasn’t changed since the last approval.

Oh well.

ATF defines the phrase "you can't push a rope"

Form 4 Using SiShop One Shot Trust for an SBS:
SiShop entry: 9/21/18
Docusigned: 9/22/18
Mailed: 10/9/18
Cashed: 10/30/18
Approved: 9/11/19
Stamp at Dealer: 9/21/19

So just under 11 months from cashed to received. I have my Turbo K cashed 6/14/19, so I'll be interested to see if somehow it ends up being one of those 90 day approvals Big Waylon posted about. I also have my promo SiCo cans with cashed dates of 7/19/19 and 8/14/19. Guess it's time to buy something else to put in process!

Just got the call last night from Scott @ Tarheel that my paperwork for the hybrid 46 came in! Jan 31 - Oct 16. Time to start the wait over again!

I just got my call from Scott and one of my form 4 is back but I am on my way to get on a plane so I have to wait another week. I am hoping my other one is back by then.
TB 22
Mailed 8/9/19
Approved form 4 10/19/19

Ummm what? 2 months?

It’s been a very common trend for individual F4s submitted after 7/1/19. Nobody knows why.

Even people that have other forms pending have received some back from this time period. Like a stamp received this week from an 8/1/19 check cashed date, but still has one pending from April. (As an example, that’s what a guy on ARF posted yesterday)

My Form 4 check arrived in Portland on Monday, and it cleared the bank yesterday (Thursday). Maybe that's a good sign.

The quick approval process has been scrapped due to the calls of those who submitted Pre-July and have been waiting in excess of 8 months for approvals. It seemed that the July or later approvals that were turned around after two months were too good to last. Wish others would have just bought more stuff in hopes of quicker approvals instead of bitching about a wait.

If you're not OK with waiting in excess of a year, NFA isn't for you.

Sucks that it didnt last but I am not surprised that people complained about being stuck on the old process and that the "fix" was to basically screw everyone.
