Finally stopped by the Zebulon Farmers Market late this morning. A guy playing guitar, a play area for the kids, and about 12-15 tents today. Not a whole lot going on but it's hot and at 11:30 it's late for that sort of thing. Maybe better in the morning... A meat place, an egg place, a few places with various fruit and veggies, a CBD joint, soaps and fragrance s, a couple of craft ladies, some farm and recycling advocates, and a craft beer place that's opening this fall in Zebulon.

So, we looked around and picked up a pound of chorizo and some duck eggs, some fresh chicharrones from a baker there, a couple of misc items and left after dropping a buck in the musician's tip jar...

Hit the Hispanic grocery for a few odds and ends and after a lookyloo cruise around downtown we came home to cook brunch...

Fresh is best... Pato Huevos Rancheros...

Duck eggs, fresh pork chorizo, fresh chicharrones, fresh tomatillo chutney, grilled cebollitos(green onion w/bulb), chopped ripe jalapenos, queso fresco, and Mexican crema, with avocado and Roma tomatoes...

Btw, if you have never had duck eggs over medium, your life is not complete. The lightly cooked yolk of a farm raised duck may be the perfect sauce...

I thought this post was going to be how you parked a Lincoln Town Car on top off some dude selling goats cheese. Guess you're not old enough!

Must be young... Thanks... Don't know that reference...

For a while you couldn't go 10 minutes without a new news story about some octogenarian driving their Caddy/Lincoln/Old People Car into a farmers market.

Ahh... Gotcha. No automotive incidents today... No goat cheese either, sadly...

I used to get an amazing super sharp goat cheese and a really good spicy onion relish from the same stall at the Raleigh farmers market and buy some good bread to spread both on. Best lunch.

I love that goat cheese place. Their herb crusted rolled cheese is pretty bomb on french rounds...

My favourite is the hard poppy seed rolls that look like tiny cottage loaves. Scoop out the middle and apply cheeses to the heavenly crust.
