Story states a 28 year old woman was injured in an accidental shooting of a 9mm handgun with ammo and a holster taken from the scene. It occurred in the Hickory Valley Hills Mall common area. What puzzles me is two shots were fired. How does two shots get fired accidentally? They are looking into charges. Police did not say if it was her gun or someone else’s gun she was injured with. Again two shots?

Accident means no one is to blame.

Was it in a purse and she was jostling it about?
Yeah, two accidental shots seems odd

One shot went off and really startled the person that was fondling it and they reacted with a jerk and squeeze and cranked off another round? That could be one way that two NEGLIGENT shots were fired. I won't call them "accidental" unless it was a properly holstered gun that somehow discharged. Otherwise, someone was playing around with it and it went off or they had it unholstered in a bag or pocket. Neither of which I would call accidental.

Story says they confiscated a holster. I’ve not seen a holster that doesn’t cover a trigger. Was the gun in the holster? Could not have been.

Why did they confiscate a holster?
I assume they took the items related to the incident. Two spent shell casings, holster, ammo, and gun. I’m pretty sure the mall is posted no guns. At least that’s what I saw a year ago. I don’t shop at the mall. Only occasionally do a repair there. It’s been taken over by teens who don’t buy anything. Much like the rest of NC.

Have you not seen how scary some holsters are??! They hold those evil black hand-sized death machines! Some people these days... :D

Seriously though, they’re gonna take everything that could possibly be evidence. Maybe they’ll demonstrate gross negligence for not properly using said holster.

Lotsa those...Jordon Holster, most S.D. Meyers, Tom Threeperson, the majority of the antique and modern holsters for revolvers. I'd say well over half of my collection leaves the trigger exposed. Seems in the past people knew how to carry handguns better than we do now.

Probably a Uncle Mikes holster. I hear those are bad and turn to the thug life. Could have reacted to a gang sign from a sports wallet.

Really? Hmmm...here are some for your viewing pleasure or displeasure. I have many more but the designs are basically the same. I don't have any exposed trigger ones for Glocks. o_O

You just wanted an excuse to show off your collection.

And I appreciate it!

The main entrances are posted but the store doors like Sears and JCPenney aren't or weren't the last time I was there ( October) so I always go in that way to circumvent the gun buster signs on the main doors

Looks like he was charged with carrying concealed without a permit. I don't see where he was charged with carrying in a GFZ. That's an "infraction", a $500 ticket. Maybe the Po-Po/DA didn't want to bother with the GFZ, since carrying concealed is a more serious charge anyway.

Interested in the make and model of the pistol.

I’ve lived in Hickory most of my life and I don’t go near the mall!
