help for neighbor--GE washer

So a neighbor posted in nextdoor that her GE washer would rinse but not wash all of a sudden after the hurricane.

I suggested unplugging it for 5 min...then plug it back up to reset any computer it may have.

Now it will wash...but only on hot or warm...Not cold!! What gives? This has me puzzled....

Does it provide cold water to get to warm, or do you get all hot regardless of the setting?

There are a number of online appliance troubleshooting and repair sites, just search for the model number.
 
Not a fan of GE products now. Most need a computer and software to troubleshoot and they will not share that software to common repairmen. That then requires a mobile GE tech to repair. Wish I had known this before purchasing a washer. I am a firm believer in buying a simple washer with an agitator. Wish I could help.

I couldn't find one when I looked at the big box stores. Guy at Lowes told me if I wanted a simple one then I needed to buy it off my grandma. All of them have the damn computer now.

They are still out there. They don’t have a clue at Lowe’s. They are less common now but there are a number of manufacturers with them. I looked at two locally. I get too dirty working for a non agitator to clean my clothes. I need to sell mine and buy one even though it’s only a couple years old.
