I had the same plan 6-7 years ago, but when ammo got scarce after the big scare, those three calibers were damn near impossible to buy.Several years ago I consolidated everything down to 3 calibers: .22, 9mm, and .223. All my handguns are 9mm except for one .22. Easier to stock up on ammo for me.
Hope to have close to 7k-8k of each of 9mm and .223 by the end of the year to last during those times.I had the same plan 6-7 years ago, but when ammo got scarce after the big scare, those three calibers were damn near impossible to buy.
I shoot 10-12K of pistol ammo a year so I was was just scared of the odds of running out.Hope to have close to 7k-8k of each of 9mm and .223 by the end of the year to last during those times.
lol...I hear ya....don't shoot nearly that much myself though.....wish I could.I shoot 10-12K of pistol ammo a year so I was was just scared of the odds of running out.
Are they that fat, really? lol.@Millie there's always a G21 around when you're in Conway. Billy and I both have them. You can wrap your paw around one next time. Or, part of the way around one. Mine's not the SF, not sure about Billy's.
I shoulda known! What was I thinking??Have them all here.
Yeah, but my early education was in Mexico City, by Brits.....what can I say, some habits are hard to lose! LoL. I hope to meet these particular guys at the October bash. And another thing.
You gotta stop hanging around with @NCLivingBrit and @OutLore and spell things the correct American way.
I've not broken a gun in a while now! But you never know.....if you haven't already shot/bought/broken/replaced
9mmI suggest that you stockpile the caliber that you think you’d shoot the most during a shortage, and not worry that you’re shooting several calibers while ammo is plentiful.
So I can learn from y'all once again and save myself the trouble, and just keep all my guns and their various ammos! YAY.I think we all do it once... Then we fall off the wagon...

I'd probably have got a higher-end 1911 9mm. And never have even looked at the Taurus Ultralight revolver, much less bought one....eeewwww. As for the other guns, I'm fine with my choices. The Kel Tec is a good bathroom gun, the Springfield .45 is pretty awesome, the p238 is fantastic, the Rossi that replaced the Taurus is so nice, and the Glock 19 is great. I'm good. LoL.Keep what you have ?
You have to ask yourself if you would have bought what you have if you had known then what you know now.
This is true BUT...I have one for you to try after I have "mortified" it. Quite handy.Next time you come across a 4x4 post...wrap your hand around it. It's the same size as a 45 cal. Glock.
That's the three most common 'calibres' in 'Merica.Several years ago I consolidated everything down to 3 calibers: .22, 9mm, and .223.
I came to post a similar anecdote...And another thing.

For a diet, of course. Everyone knows reds are less fat than blues! This sounds a lot like eating only one color of M&M. WTF would anyone do such a thing?
I do have a couple of shotguns and about 250 rounds of assorted shells. Hardly ever shoot them so forget they are there..lol. Bout the only time I take one out is when I'm going to a turkey shoot. That's the three most common 'calibres' in 'Merica.
And the least expensive.
Ya done real good.
But no shotgun?
Ooops...I keep forgetting guns. I also have a 30/30 but not much ammo for it...maybe about 50 rds. I shot it once years ago when my grandfather gave it to me but I don't hunt so it sits in my safe.I do have a couple of shotguns and about 250 rounds of assorted shells. And the G21 will also shoot 10mm with a barrel swap, since you know you will want to eventually. The G20 will never shoot 45 (but it will shoot a boatload of other calibers with the right barrels).@Millie there's always a G21 around when you're in Conway. Billy and I both have them. What's justification got to do with it. My justification is I want them. Today 145+ handguns and 50+ long guns. Can you imagine the mental stress I would put myself under trying to Justify this???but couldn't really justify them.
