Did You Go Shooting Today

Yes. Home from B.Oaks. Shot Billy's 2 Glocks in .45. One was excellent, the other was a bit big in the grip and way too feisty for me. The one I liked....I really, really liked. If I could get one done like his (except the colors) that could be a new gun in my tiny collection.

I also got to shoot my first flint lock rifle. A huge thing, but very easy to shoot! I was surprised. Very heavy barrel, hard for me to hold up for long. I saw lots of smoke and fire shoot out. Awesome and beautiful gun! Some pictures were taken, I think. Thanks to gunbelt for letting me try this rifle out.

Gates are open!!! RS in in the kitchen preparing for @Millie and @gunbelt and whoever else hungry shows up. Thw Wizard awaits. A beautiful day thus far!!! I have 2 45 cal Glocks for her to shoot, a 21 and a 30 StillFat. Maybe...maybe she will remember shooting them next week....did I say Maybe. I think sometime she is in system overload when here. She shoots a lot of guns and then a while later she wants to "try" this and thus that she has already shot.
Let the fun begin!!!!!!
"System overload" is a nice way to say I'm losing my mind, but thanks! ADHD is also a part of things, and I lack focus sometimes when a lot is happening. LOL.
I did enjoy the "colorful" gun today, it was an excellent-shooting gun. I kinda want one.

Our Pal from Raleigh the great@Have gun-will travel just pulled outta the drive way. We went down on the range to try Mr. Wizard. I passed on the 2nd try...that means I failed.
Raymond came to share his time a bring me a Much appreciated gift. Unobtainium for civilian mortals. He shot a new gun he has that he had not shot before and did Just Fine thank you. I Hope I broke him from answering "not too bad".
All in all a wonderful day on the Range with wonderful visitors. How much better can life be??????

It's was a Glock 23..I think it's a keeper. I got it from James Team Glock2002
I shot it fast ,only had one mag of fmj ammo. Need to take it out again soon and put a couple of boxes thru it. .Great seeing you today Billy. I truly love Ivory and nickel. Next trip can I shoot the 3 in Colt. Holding that just gave me a warm fuzzy feeling

Damn It Boy...2 miles from Virgin Land???? I had No idea. Hell, Raleigh was bad enough to travel. The 3 inch, engraved, Ivory stocked Colt is awaiting your next visit. We'll shot em up!!

At my friends farm in Henderson. Got to shoot my 30-30 Contender (sweet!) and my S&W with the .357 Sig barrel. This will need some load development. Also sighted in a friends AR15.

Leaving for FLD with my 14 yr old so she can prove, once again, that she is the better shot. G17, G17 with AA .22 conversion kit, G19 and P320 are tagging along
We may have crossed paths, I left there about noon. The 100 yd rifle range stayed pretty busy, but I had the pistol range pretty much to myself.

This morning I grabbed a few guns and ammo and took off for FLD. I did want to put a few rounds through my recently acquired Sub 2k. I had a few problems with it earlier that I thought were mag related (this one takes Beretta mags) so I took along the mags that came with it, as well as all the Beretta mags I had. Narrowed the problem down to one mag, however that mag worked flawlessly in my Beretta, I just need to keep it away from the Sub 2k.

My 10mm Witness runs well, but throws the brass about 25 feet, which is about 20 feet further than I like. (10mm brass is not nearly as common as 9mm, so as a reloader I don’t like to lose it). That is with a heavier 18# recoil spring. So, before I left, I shortened the ejector about 0.030”. That cut the ejected distance by about 10 feet, so I need to take a little more off. I also was able to adjust the rear sight since it had been shooting slightly to the right.

I put about 100 rounds through the FNX 45. I had to make my handloads a little hotter for that pistol than I do for my other 45s, as it won’t reliably cycle with reduced loads. The new loads I made for it worked great.

Not long ago I picked up an older Witness steel frame 9mm. I shot 60 flawless rounds through it today. I really love the feel of that Italian CZ clone.

Last was the 450B AR. It has had a problems feeding the next-to-last round in the mag. I had made a mod to the mag follower, and it tested out well.

Turned out to be a great day at the range.

Off in a few minutes with @Geezer and @RaceRedGT to Charleston for the SASS Regionals. @lowcountry , any of your folks out moving about come by and visit with us. Battery Oaks back open tomorrow.
Wellllll, we're Back!!! Wonderful trip there and back with outstanding company. The match was a bust! TWO vendors TWO!!! I bought a hat and a gun, @RaceRedGT bought a hat, @Geezer was a dry run. I had my First ChicFilet experience...very nice.
Going to try to Kill the Wizard in a little while and the range will be Open as usual tomorrow!!!!
For those who care..the rifle targets were set at 10 yards, pistol and shotgun inside that, Maybe 7.
As soon as this semester is over, I am heading to Battery Oaks when it is open.
You are welcome Anytime!!!

If you were driving a truck and told a guy that pulled up as you were getting in that the range was all theirs, that was us.

Yeah, it was a good with good company. The match was a disappointment. Not many people at all. Hardly any vendors but Billy and Josh were able to spend some money with one that was there. I didn't find anything. Still, a good day.

Popped off 10 rounds through my 220 in the folks’ backyard. Trying out the new threaded barrel I picked up recently. Bottom one in the pic.

Gave a AR/M4 class using low, medium and high wall cover/barricades. Then gave Glock pistol training against the plate rack with one and two hands. Everyone shot the wizard drill and failed. I failed only cause I didn't use a covering garment.

Ran to the range with the Savage 308 and CZ 223. Both guns shot great. Everything out to 4oo yards was dead with both calibers. Could not tell at 500 with the 223. I ran about 30 rounds through the 308. The first 20 were at 2,500 FT/Sec (150 grn FMJ) shot much better than the last 10 that was at 2,400 FT/Sec. Smallest target was a 4" round. The red dot covered the while target @ 500. That one survived to swing another day. The 4x6 was dead.

Wife and I went to TSA last night to pop a few. She wanted to shoot her P238 that she has not shot in a while. She emptied the 4 mags of self-defense ammo that she had been carrying in her purse for a while. They all went bang, but she turned to me and said she really needs to shoot that gun more, her accuracy with that gun was not very good compared to the guns she normally shoots, which is her CZ97 and Ruger SR22 (which she also brought for this trip). I took an old Witness steel-frame 9mm, which had a few issues ejecting. When I got back from the range, I installed a 12lb recoil spring in it to try next time.

Just got back from H2O...and man was it hot out there. Shot around 100 rds thru the CZ PCR. Was working on drawing from concealed for the first time and did pretty good I think...need to work a little more on the accuracy on it. First time I shot the CZ with the new Truglow TFX sights I put on it and loved them...so much better. Then ran 2 mags thru my AR9 pistol and another mag thru my AR15 pistol. Good day.

@Hashknife and I went down to shoot The Wizard. I had just returned from the movies and went down and Killed the Wizard....cold, street clothes, G26, Thumper loads. This thing is tough. Still only been defeated by 1 person. I can't wait for all of you to try him out. Somebody from CFF has Got to kill him!!!!
