Robbery using HIV needle

Can I shoot him?
I mean, he just threatened me with death and/or great bodily harm, didn't he?

Screw it, Ima shoot him.
Hope some of you guys are on my jury
Not guilty! ;)

I’d have shot him too! Worse than a knife or a gun!

Just don’t mop up the blood and bodily fluids!

I’ve been threatened with stuff like this before, even had fecal matter thrown at me by someone with Hep-C. Once they make the threat it’s go time as far as I’m concerned. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Should be treated as any other lethal weapon.

I work in an industry where I see a portion of the viral markers that are active in populations when they choose to donate plasma. Trust me when I tell you that should you wish to attempt to save an individual's life, you'll want to have a one way valve for CPR, and gloves if there is blood involved.

Further evidence that evil people will use whatever means are at their disposal to take advantage of regular folks.

Shooting would indeed be justified (logically, ethically, morally), but I wouldn't bet a tinker's tin-plated damn wooden nickel on the real victim's chance of a successful self-defense strategy.

Think about it tho... yes its a deadly weapon but if he's close enough your gun won't save you from being stuck. I might just toss my wallet one way and run the other.

In my eyes that would be a justified shoot but I would rather not be in the situation at all. On a side note there are medicines available now for hep c. I know a few people who went through a trial at UNC and all tests say they are now cured. The people got it from their brother unknowingly.

Great bodily harm is the low threshold for deadly force. And that is NCSC case law FWIW.

Someone with HIV probably complained they were being stigmatized.
