I put a tactical light on my AR with a pressure switch. How do you keep the pad/switch on the rail?

Tape, elastic band, some light switches have MLok mounts for the button.
Larure Index clips will help keep the wire where you want it.

The Streamlight I have came with these rubber mounts that hold the pressure switch in place. They work pretty well, I’ve had it on one of my rifles for a couple years and haven’t had any issues with it coming off. I just moved it over to another rifle since I have a cloud defensive OWL coming for my primary.

I found some Double side tape (the tape that you put hooks on the wall with) and stuck the touch switch to the side of the hand guard. Hopes it holds. I had a roll of double sided tape (not the rally thin type) around the house somewhere.

It's not a dumb question at all! It is always a challenge to find a good way for the pad to stay where you put it! Oil, Carbon slick parkerization, etc.. all make it difficult for sticking a pad and it staying stuck!

I used velcro with sticky tape, this way if i need to remove the switch its no problem snd a roll of velcro 15 ft long is about $3.50 on ebay

When guns become outlawed,I will become an outlaw!
The fact that the government would even consider repealing the second amendment is the very reason for which it was written.

Cloud defensive LCS on all tape switches.

I’ve been wanting and OWL for a bit now. Cloud Defense seems to have it figured out. I’ve never liked having to secure a wire or it’s ability to snag.

This is a badass light design, but $350 is too rich for my blood

Black elastic thingies that girls use to keep their hair up.
You should make yourself some ranger bands. ;)

I have to wonder how long that light will last hanging over the flash suppressor. Ever see the video of the guy blowing out his tail lights with a rifle muzzle blast? Inquiring minds want to know.......
My thoughts as well. There's a lot of blast coming off those ports. More than people realize. Not to mention, it just makes the light dirty. :D

It will be just fine, any dedicated weapon light should be durable enough to withstand muzzle blast. I actually just moved this light over to that rifle, and it used to be on my Daniel Defense which has a muzzle break on it. I had the head of that light right next to the one of the ports on the brake for a couple years. You can see in the picture where the finish has been blasted off, but other than that, no issues.

I picked one up a few months back. It is hands down the best light I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had just about all of them at this point. The thing is absolutely built like a tank and I love than fact that if they ever make a brighter version of it, then all you’ll need to do is buy a replacement head for it and no a while new light.

they are expensive for sure, but that’s about the going rate for a quality weapon light. When you price out a SureFire scout light or a Mod Lite, after you add a mount and the tape switch, your paying ad much or more than you would for an OWL. also keep an eye on them, they frequently have very good sales, usually 25% off. I caught a sale on mine and paid around 280 shipped I think.
