Show me your targets, people!

Here we go:

20191125_142749.jpg The "paper Wiz"....didn't go well.

20191125_144525.jpg 7 yards.....didn't go well.....lol.
All shooting with the G19.
I miss the 1911s......just sayin'.

Had a good day with the M1A the other day so I'll throw this one up. Now that I'm shooting optics in competition, I'm used to seeing an eggagerated wobble when I shoot standing. Shooting irons felt like the rifle wasn't even moving!

Today was 1911 day. After weeks of not shooting anything but the G19, I missed my 1911s.
Here we go:
20191129_122336.jpg RIA, 9mm, 7 yards.

20191129_114755.jpg Pasters show Wizard holes, RIA. Shot more rounds on the same target at 7 yards, must not have taken a pic.
Also shot the .45, no pic of that one, forgot to bring the target in.
So 90 rounds of 9mm and 50 of .45, and I had forgotten how very nice the triggers are on my favorite guns! A joy to shoot, and I'll never neglect them for this long again! I missed them sooo much. lol.

I don’t go to the pistol range and stand there at 10 yards punching holes in paper for groups. Not anymore at least and not for a long time

I’ll do a quick warm up drill of 24 rounds (Guerilla Approach Warm Up consistency target is a favorite)
https://guerrillaapproach.com/product/consistency-target-free/

But after that I’m doing rifle to pistol transitions, shooting, moving and changing mags. Obviously I’m going for A zone hits and the tighter the group the better but group size isn’t my main goal

I find that more practical. However, I do alternate with smaller targets to check concentration.

I prefer shooting steel for the feedback.

I need a new rubber dummy. He’s full of holes.

Another 1911 day:
(The RIA had 1 fail. to feed after many, many rounds of perfection! It was bound to happen eventually.)

Here is my target from the LAV KH training a few years ago. I had Ken sign it. In case you are wondering I am the short one. LMAO

Same target from earlier in the day. It also has KH's explanation of the details/specs of a "typical" gunfight.

I traded my Kimber K6S for a S&W 640 357 Magnum 5 Shot and a Bond Arms 357 Magnum 2 Round Derringer .

I had a S&W 640 357 Magnum 5 Shot a year ago.

This was my first time trying it at 12 yards again, after getting it back.

Back to the G19 today, pasters are Wizard, the rest are @ 10 yards. Not sure what to think! Nothing good, though. LoL.

Hard to tell the group. Move it back 3 yards down to 7 yards.

Take up the slack/Pre travel on the Glock trigger.

If you must have more of the finger on the trigger, that’s fine. Do it slow and easy, and don’t forget to breathe properly. Do you have a pic of your stance?

What stance are you using?

I have my feet about shoulder width apart and my right foot is behind me a little. Leaning a bit forward, arms straight.

Sounds like an isosceles stance.

Are you using your dominant eye? If not, you may be left eye dominant for a right handed person.

Right eye dominant, using that. Left eye closed. What is all this telling you?

(Other than the fact that I'm doing weird things while pulling the trigger that cause my shots to go NOT where I was aiming! lol.)

hung a big and heavy new piece of steel at 75/80 yards. Fun watching the slow .38 special bullets zoom to the steel!

Firehose works perfectly for this 35+ lb hunk of rifle rated steel. Should be fun with the AK.

You’re pulling to the left as all I can tell, then.

When I first started, I was shooting high left. Turns out I was cross-eye dominant (left eye dominant for a right handed shooter). It grouped fine. I was just high left.

Shoot closer, first. See how you do. Post pics again. If you have a video it’s more helpful. Dry firing practice is important.

MantisX is great for trouble shooting your technique, too. It’s expensive but it’s worth it.

My dry firing is exceptional! LOL.

Too bad all the hard work isn't (so far) translating to the range, but I'll get there eventually.

Next range day I'll try to get a video, now that I finally have a phone that has the camera that faces both ways. lol. Am I video-ing my hands and arms, or my stance?

Both the stance, and a video viewing the hands and arms from the side.

1911s day. I did my version of the 5x5 drill, meaning no timer and no drawing, but did do it at 5 yards and sort of kept track of my times. I'll try this again soon. I can actually see the circles at 5 yards!! Lol.
Just put up 2 targets at a time and did some with the 9mm and one with the .45.
Also did a couple of targets with the colored shapes.

Shot the wizard today. It’s the first time shooting a pistol since my accident on the 10th of dec. Didn’t realize my “body” size target has a chain broke so visualize hitting under the bolt for the a zone target. Not sure if it was in so i guessing need to make a template.

Shot with a g19, all times were under except the last 2 at 10 yards and they were at 2.74.

after that I finished the box of 100 rounds with double taps on the head with a couple 4/5 round strings as fast as I could at the body. All drawing from concealment at 10 yards. Also shot a mag one round at a time from concealment at the small 3 inch circle I got from @CHRIS_WNC.

At TSA in Raleigh for some .45acp therapy. Ruger SR1911, M&P full size and the Shield.
The Shield shoot real nice. I have to paint the faded Tritium sights on the M&P so I can shoot better, the lanes are not well lighted.

OMG....that's not a revolver....good for you!

So did all the revolver work help your shooting? Looks good to me!
I’m not really sure. That was my first time shooting my carry gun in a year. As you know, I’ve developed a viscous flinch that I’m unable to beat. It isn’t mechanical, it’s 100% mental. The flinch explains all those low hits. :(

Just installed a new taller FO Dawson Sight on my Commander. Fitting was a pain, and I eyeballed the centering (expecting to have to fine-tune via aluminum punch on the bench at ProShots).

Shot the first five rounds of 124gr GECO at 10 yards to check gross zero.

Since gross zero looked really close, I shot the same load at a 25 yard B8...

Looks like eyeballing was close enough! This particular pistol doesn’t group any better than 2.5” at 25 yards off a rest, so I really can’t fine-tune anything at this point.

I liked my FO Dawson front sight so much, I bought their FO rear sight also for my 1911. Think its kinda cool they send you the punch for installation or adjustment, never seen that before . Once you buy a sight from them, if the height is not correct, they will send you a new one for half price..Cant beat that with a stick..

Their fiber rod stock is nice and thin, and I have yet to install one of their FO sights where the FO was off center by even a minuscule amount. Great sights.
