I understand that there's a movement going on here in Davie county to do this I've been told. Not sure where it is with regards to getting done?

Probably Iredell...

Iredell County commissioners discussed a resolution supporting the Second Amendment and gun rights at the board’s meeting Tuesday.

Commissioner Gene Houpe submitted a copy of the resolution that Surry County’s commissioners passed Monday.

Commissioner Ken Robertson said he supported getting a resolution prepared for the future. However, he said he would prefer to pass such a resolution at a more strategic time.

Sheriff Darren Campbell will request a resolution at the commissioner’s meeting Jan. 21.

He's pretty pro-2A, but slimey as all getout. It'd be nice, but I won't hold my breath. All that said we're a pretty conservative county, so there is hope.
I’ll advise when I get his reply. I actually am kind of surprised that I haven’t heard/read any mention of something already in motion in reference the Sanctuary status in Alamance.

I'm sending Robertson a letter encouraging him to act in a preventive measure rather than trying to fix things after they've gone too far. I encourage any other Iredell county residents to do the same.

I met 2 reps tonight at a meeting about the water crisis due to dow/chemours in the fayetteville area. One of them was john szoka. He handed me a card and I let him know i had already called his office about guns. I asked him his thought on sanctuary counties in NC and he said he's good with people keeping their guns. Then we talked about how insane VA is right now and how they're about to kick off something bad with their anti-gun bills.
seemed like an okay guy.

Turd in punch bowl: you have a "2A" sanctuary".

What does that do?
It's the old "Silent Majority" contradicting the leftist totalitarian assertions that they speak for the masses. The more 2A Sanctuaries come on line, the more notice the left is given that their constant pushing isn't welcome.

Symbolic, no "teeth?" Well, maybe so. But people have been known to rally around and be encouraged by symbols before.

I think it also depends on how much the Sheriff is behind it.

Garrison along with a small crowd saw commissioners vote five-to-two - passing a resolution supporting the Second Amendment. Proposed by Commissioner John Rebholz, it essentially it says the county supports the right to own a gun and opposes any proposed legislation or law - whether out of the North Carolina General Assembly or U.S. Congress - that would infringe on that right.

It goes even further, saying that the county will become a "sanctuary county” for firearms unconstitutionally prohibited by the government. Commissioners were left to consider an idea floated by commissioner Stan Deatherage for the past several months.

Beaufort county is in...

IMHO, I think all the "2A sanctuary" is a load of BS. Paper that has no weight.
the left says the same about the US Constitution.

Having a resolution on your local and accountable county rulebooks won't hurt and it just might help. It's just a statement of solidarity against the BS spewing from DC.

@wsfiredude can Davidson county get added? lol #America

Doing it now...

Sorry; woulda done it sooner, but we were out on a call.

In my opinion, this movement goes beyond semantics and symbolism...it is becoming, more and more, a statement of intent.

Have I missed something and just can't find the "updated map"?

As counties pass resolutions and tell .gov to go stuff a stick in its ass, I update the map, the county list and the date the resolution was adopted.

I have been following like the rest of us with and speaking to a lot of folks in VA. Most are very angry and several have commented on moving to NC to try and get away from it.

I keep wanting to call my county people, but I keep forgetting.
Anybody have any tips on how to not keep forgetting stuff?

absolutely. I'll be watching for others to vote and update accordingly
