Been out of stock for as long as I can remember. iirc it is only sold from their website. They claim to have them on Wednesday evenings I think. But I’ve not seen it ever show availability. Is a neat looking “pistol”. I’ve heard good things about the lrbho as well. Haven’t found any reviews that claim it to be of poor quality even though it’s primarily polymer.

Tagged for interest. Been looking st it for a long time & just when I think I can get it, I start to have doubts about a 9mm AR pistol, vs a 5.56 AR pistol.

I’d have wagered a red dot would be more appropriate for one of these... and definitely a nice suppressor. :D

I’ve heard cutting up old bike tires and securing them to the grip works well for an improved grip...

Just picked up one of these second hand (got a deal) with an AT3 red dot sight. This one has a B5 pistol grip and a Fab Defense fore grip. Came with a 33 round mag (Glock). Played around with it this afternoon, taking it apart and putting it back together. Looked like you could drop a trigger group in, so I stuck an extra Risa Armament trigger in, but had to replace the safety select for it to work. Trying to get to the range to see how much fun this can be!

It did fit right in. The stock pin is plastic, and for now, I chose not to replace it, but I think I will if the trigger works well.

This Might be the next evolution for us with the Roni. Ima think on it and what it might offer that the Roni doesn't give us. Any help would be appreciated. Right now the Roni has a mini Bushnell red dot and no other mods. I'm new to this and am so taken with the concept I could easily be swayed to this but help me as to what it would offer me extra over Mr. Roni???

I can suppress the Extar today (if I had one), but I can't do that with a Roni.

This is what you need @BatteryOaksBilly it will take you back to the 60s. No need for evolution. Nothing smoother than a roller delayed blowback.

Shot it subsonic suppressed yet? I wonder if there is less bolt slap than an AR 9.

Hoping to get out to the range this weekend with mine. Anxious to see if the drop in trigger works well.

Make sure the Fab defense grip is not a vertical foregrip, as that can get you into trouble, as Slacker cleverly pointed out.

I mentioned "needing a decent grip" earlier in the thread, but didn't explain.

My hands are man-sized. On any AR or 1911, to use the pad of my finger, my finger is pointed back at me, not perpendicular to the trigger.

One of the reasons I prefer flat trigger shoes on AR's. They tend to set the trigger face further forward.

Bit of a thread revive here. I was yakking to my fun dealer about Ar9 shenanigans and he dragged his Extar out of the closet for me to fondle.

It's mad light, ugly as sin, has the Glock mags at an angle I don't hate (Looking at you Kriss) and is about as cheap as I could start to build an AR9 for.

I may be sold. I think I'll take him up on his offer to shoot it and see if it doesn't hate me.

Mine has run over 1000 rounds without an issue.

Has not been cleaned or lubed.

At one point I swapped in an aftermarket trigger, but put the factory plastic one back in.

I have used a few grips on it, and swapped in an ambi safety.

The price of AR-9s has come way down.... it’s not as easy a choice anymore.

But....it is light, for sure.

I don't like the mag angle on Glock mag ARs generally, but I was playing with the Extar and it was more comfortable for me. If they made the Extar Colt mag version I'd be super happy.

Somewhere there’s a company that mages an AR pistol grip that holds spare Glock mags.

I think that would be a fun thing to have for this gun.

EDIT: Here it is...

Watched the review and went to the web site... $39 for any of three different designs (10 round flush, 15 rd flush, and American Flag 10rd flush). YouTube review said that the grip was large (makes sense), so that might help anyone who has really large hands and may end up with their trigger finger pointing back at them... :) Haven't ordered one yet....

Which begs the question, why didn't they make the Extar feed from the grip like the Sub2k, CX4, etc? There is no reason for a pistol caliber weapon to have a separate mag well that adds 3" to the overall length.

I'd much rather have it shorter than have it try and look like an AR or "assault weapon", which is the only reason I can think of for building it the way they did.

Handguard on this thing is a boner killer for sure. Pure fugly. Shame it's not swappable...

Because that's the worst looking AR grip ever made....

Will be a while before I can put some ammo through it, but I'll have a full write up when I do.

Some initial thoughts:
-For $400 it comes with and SB brace standard. No adapter/tube/brace combo to buy.
-It's extremely light and handles well.
-I can't find a comfortable set up for the handguard. I don't really like the AFG- you can't go thumb over bore very well with it. I'll probably end up taking it off.
-Comes with a factory "brake" of sorts on the muzzle threads. No real need to buy something else unless you just want to trick it out. I would assume between the internal buffer and brake combo the recoil's going to me minuscule.
-I've never tried the B5 grips, but it's actually a really nice one, and I wasn't able to find one in my parts I liked better on it.
-Ideally, I'd like a standard small red dot on top, but astigmatism ruins that. I'd like something smaller to match the size and weight of the rifle, but there aren't a lot of small 1x prisms on the market.
Nice. I'd really like to try one of these but last time I was there they were back ordered. Did it take long to get it?

Scratch that, I was looking at the 10mm. Wait or go 9mm? Free citizen problems! ;)

5 days from order placed to FFL.

My local gun dude offered to let me shoot one of these. Think I need to take him up on that if I can ever find a gen3 G17 upper lol

Quick newbie question. This gun "takes Glock mags." Does that mean *any* 9mm Glock mags?
Any mag that will work in a Glock 19 should work. Glock 26 mags are too short.

The cheapo Korean 33-rounders I have are super-tight, and won't drop free; and I've read comments from other folks that even the Glock-branded 33's are a tight fit. Standard Glock-branded and Magpul G19 mags fit properly and drop free. I haven't tried anything but 15's and 33's.

ok thanks. So if I have a Glock 48, I can't use those mags.
