Got to meet him today at the Pentagon and listen to him speak to the group I was with, very cool guy. He told us he spent the majority of his career at Damneck and that the most influential leaders he had coming up were Navy Chiefs.

He was very highly regarded in STS24 at Pope (so I hear; I never met the man). Cool remarks about Navy Chiefs (so long as they weren't SEALs lol....)

IMHO, it is absolutely essential that the SEA to Chairman JCS would have direct combat experience. He seems like an outstanding person for this role.

He was specifically talking about SO Chiefs.

LOL....

Truth in disclosure, there are some great SEALs, and some great SEAL chiefs and leadership. But far too few. If they were really 'leading' they would not be in the middle of the shit sandwich they are currently in. My best friend, now retired, is a retired SEAL senior chief (we went to FMSS together). I do give them crap but they deserve it.
