This is a shameless plug and shout out for my daughter 11. She is raising money for cancer research by entering the Tap Out Cancer Charlotte BJJ tournament in May. The below is a link that if you wish you can Donate toward her goal. The website is pre programmed to amounts higher than I would like to see. So if your willing please just hit the custom donation and go much smaller. This is simply a thank you to the great family of our Forum. Just FYI I got the approval of The owners before posting this as a courtesy and they thankfully gave their approval. Thanks to all.

You guys have started her day on a high note. Thanks for all who have donated so far. We need to get a small CFF patch to put on her GI for the competition.

Bump. Y’all can do it. Throw $10-$20 toward it (or more). You’ve wasted a lot more than that on something else in the last couple weeks. :p

Blow her $250 goal out of the water.

That was my logic. $10, no big deal, I spend more on lunch most days. The girl is doing something good for herself long term and helping a good cause.

Consider this another free bump :)

BTT Come on Guys I know ya'll can spare a few dollars for a great cause. If you have ever had a family member or friend Fight/die/survive Cancer then this should be a cause that is close to your heart.

I didn't know if you guys got messages or not but my daughter has responded to you all. We have such a great community here she has upped her goal to 400.00. She will be selling hand made bracelets to get to this new goal. I would have never done anything like this at 11 years old.

Yup, I got an email notification for her thank you comment very shortly after.

Keep it up guys!:)

Edit: Just checked the site again and she should have her initial goal of $250 by tonight. That’s awesome!

She is a special girl and you should be very proud of her for her efforts. As an 11 yr I would have never taken on such a project.

Done. I clicked on the "anonymous" tab so not sure if my name will appear. I didn't use Qball just my real name.

Man I'm beyond proud of this kid. She is one of those people that are natural leaders. Her lowest grade in school is a 94 and that even upsets her. She told me the other day she wanted to join a gym so she could be her best in this tournament. So next week we will start at the local Gym. On top of all that she's just a great kid with a huge heart. Teaches Sunday school kids class on top of everything else.

Done!
Congratulations on breaking the $400 goal!
P.S.
Thank you note received! Thx!

My daughter is a senior at UNC Charlotte, one of her friends she shared the dorm with passed away last month from small cell lung cancer. She never smoked.

Wow, any idea if there was a family history? I have a cousin that had to have a double mastectomy for cancer but her dna test did not show any markers for it as a family condition.

I have no idea, my daughter did not talk much about it, she and her two friends participated in the celebration of life for their good friend Taylor.

I also received her thank you message. :)
