So I have finally saved enough squirrel money to pick up an RMR I have wanted for a while. Anyone have any savings codes or suggestions for getting one the cheapest way possible (avoid NC sales taxes), I know most places are charging now.

I just got an email that some company is selling brand new RMR Type 1s for like $350.

If you are interested in Type 1 I'll find the email for you.

But you probably want a type 2...

I don't know. I've never owned any rmr

I would prefer a type 2, other than the battery flicker do you know any other differences?

Before you commit to the RMR be sure you look through a Delta Point Pro. I sold the RMR I had and went with the DPP due to the larger field of view. Much better for me.

Id also highly suggest at least checking out the holosun 507c. Less money, got great reviews from sage dynamics, Warrior Poet actually chose it to sell on his pistol (if you follow him at all), and i just got one from botach and absolutely love it. Also has the advantage you can switch between a dot and the donut of death. I didnt think id like that but its really nice at cqb

I have a friend with an RMR type 1. He gets about 3hrs of battery life out of it. He hates it.

It’s either a counterfeit or broken. Send it to Trijicon, and they’ll fix it or confirm that it’s a fake.

Thats what I told him. He just got it at Hyatts so I'm assuming they are reputable enough not to sell fakes but defective I could see . I think he spent $700 on the thing with the mount. I damn near coughed my lunch up when he told me that. My $150 ARO's are bulletproof.

Dude got ripped off big time. And three hours, like Derek said, it's either all jacked up internally somehow, or fake. I've had many type 1's and never had battery life issues.

Hyatts bent your buddy over hard with no lube if he paid 700 for that thing

also, what is an ARO?

AT3 ARO red dot. $150 with riser . Ive gotr three of them and I ride them pretty hard. They hold zero and work great. Best bang for the buck and they have a lifetime warranty.

I've had my Type 1 RMR on my G19 for 4 years. I change the settings anytime I mess with it but generally keep it in the middle of the brightness range and I never turn it off. I've changed the battery once. If this is going on a carry gun, I'd stay away from Leupold, Burris and Vortex. IMO, Trijicon is the best for reliability and Holosun is making a name for themselves as well.
